The Rainbow’S Light
Author: Derek Earls
Publisher: AuthorHouse
ISBN: 1524664537
Category : Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 130
Book Description
Droplets of evil had diluted and eventually dispersed the white power of the suns special light. The special light had a purpose. It was created for such a time as this. The purpose carried a good intent, but some devilry had diluted and dispersed the good intent. It was remembered by those occasions when rainbows arched the sky. The rainbows appeared less to men and others forgot. But most men had forgotten the purpose of the rainbows reminder, and most men and others had never known the purpose of the special light. It was always known by a few that such a time as this would come. The few, intent on good, feared the coming of such a time. Now the greater number, who were evil, were aware that the time, or a time, had come. They were, at first, unaware that the special light might reconvene as a whole and that the white power of the whole might thwart their intent. These others were not men, not human. Though they had mans outward appearance, most were subhuman; some were superhuman. Evil intent rested with the superhuman; but, to them, the intent was not evil, just inevitable. Only those carried upon the waves of the special light had the energy to combat the evil intent, and then it was only when they came together.

Pages : 269
Book Description
Amanda is a free spirit who somehow manages to get herself stuck in the energy vibration of a physical body. Of course she did it on purpose; nothing happens by accident. She's a little embarrassed to find herself on earth again and wonders how she ended up here when she vowed she'd never reincarnate again. Her most down-to-earth task is to see through the misty illusions of things for herself and to remember her spiritual nature. In the course of events, she gets sidetracked by what everyone says is real life. But she's not sure what's real anymore. She's been dreaming about rainbows lately, and now she's beginning to wonder if her life is really a dream she's having. Lavender is trying to remember something she's forgotten about her spiritual nature so she registers for school in the universe and begins classes in Time and Space, Energy and Matter, and Reality Awareness. She's a little concerned about the whole idea of synchronicity and the simultaneous time-space concept; she's not sure if she can handle everything at once. Her destiny is to unearth the mysteries of the universe and to rediscover the Scroll of Knowledge she wrote in Egypt. But she's reluctant to remember her experiences as a philosopher and has turned off her spiritual awareness. Rainbow is Amanda's higher self and Lavender's teacher who tries to help them see the light within themselves. But Rainbow is really more than she appears to be at first, or even second, glance.

The five sisters, Sophie, Chloe, Natalie, Daphne, and Lulu loved the colors of the rainbow, as in Rainbow Land, a rainbow could be seen all day long. Rainbows
Author: Daniel MacCannell
Publisher: Reaktion Books
ISBN: 1780239602
Category : Nature
Languages : en
Pages : 278
Book Description
The rainbow is a compelling spectacle in nature—a rare, evanescent, and beautiful bridge between subjective experience and objective reality—and no less remarkable as a cultural phenomenon. A symbol of the Left since the German Peasants’ War of the 1520s, it has been adopted by movements for gay rights, the environment, multiculturalism, and peace around the globe, and has inspired poets, artists, and writers including John Keats, Caspar David Friedrich, Edgar Allan Poe, and Nathaniel Hawthorne. In this book, the first of its kind, Daniel MacCannell offers an enlightening and instructive guide to the rainbow’s multicolored relationship with humanity. The scientific “discovery” of the rainbow is a remarkable tale, taking in ancient Greece and Rome, medieval Persia, and Islamic Spain. But even as we’ve studied rainbows, adopted their image, and penned odes to them for millennia, rainbows have also been regarded as ominous or even dangerous in myth and religion. In the twentieth century, the rainbow emerged as kitsch, arcing from the musical film version of The Wizard of Oz to 1980s sitcoms and children’s cartoons. Illustrated throughout in prismatic color, MacCannell’s Rainbows explores the full spectrum of rainbows’ nature and meaning, offering insight into what rainbows are and how they work, how we arrived at our current scientific understanding of the phenomenon, and how we have portrayed them in everything from myth to the arts, politics, and popular culture.

The Maker of Rainbows
Author: Richard Le Gallienne

ISBN:
Category : Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 140
Book Description
People in London-not merely literary folk, but even those "higher social circles" to which a certain publisher, whose name-or race-it is hardly fair to mention, had so obsequiously climbed-often wondered whence had come the wealth that enabled him to maintain such an establishment, give such elaborate "parties," have so many automobiles, and generally make all that display which is so convincing to the modern mind. Of course they were not seriously concerned, because, so long as it is a party, and the chef is paid so much, and the wines are as old as they should be, not even the rarest blossom on the most ancient and distinguished genealogical tree cares whose party it is, or, indeed, with whom she dances. There is only one democracy, and that is controlled by gentlemen with names that hardly sound beautiful enough to mention in fairy tales-that democracy of money to which the fairest flower of our aristocracy now bows her coroneted head.
