Book Description
The Colonists who began settling in the United States in the 1600s came here for three main reasons: 1) to escape religious persecution; 2) to escape repression; and 3) for better economic opportunity. It is not coincidental the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States were written to provide us with the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Our founding fathers wrote the Constitution to insure the people and not the government had the power. It is a hell of a document that is brilliantly written. In America’s history, the Constitution has never been abused as it is being abused today by those who want to turn America into a Marxist nation. Abraham Lincoln said, “America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” Ronald Reagan said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. If we lose this way of freedom, history will record with the greatest astonishment that those who had the most to lose did the least to prevent its happening. You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We’ll preserve for our children this, the best hope for man on Earth, or we’ll sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness.” There is no way to get back what we will lose if we lose our traditional American values to Marxist rule because there is no place on Earth like America — no place on Earth even comes close. When it’s gone — it’s gone!!! Historically, throughout the Earth’s civilizations, it has not been a question of whether a successful culture can last forever but how long it can last. What makes us think we will be different?

No Ordinary Men Peels back the cloak of secrecy and reveals four untold special operations that Joint Task Force 2, an elite counterterrorist unit, conducted in 2005–06 in which their courage, tenacity, and impressive capabilities meant the difference between life and death. No Lack of Courage The story of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s Operation Medusa, the largely Canadian action in Afghanistan from 1 to 17 September 2006, to dislodge a heavily entrenched Taliban force in the Pashmul district of Afghanistans Kandahar Province. No Easy Task Afghanistan has long been considered the graveyard of empires. Those who have ventured into Afghanistan with notions of controlling its people have soon discovered that fighting in that rugged, hostile land is no easy task. This collection of essays examines this legacy of conflict, particularly from a Canadian perspective.

From Pride to Influence
Author: Michael Hart
Publisher: UBC Press

Category : Political Science
Languages : en
Pages : 450
Book Description
Recent Canadian foreign policy has fixated upon Canada's former status as a middle power within a small club of western, democratic states. The emergence of a US-dominated world and of an integrated North American economy and the decline of multilateral rules and institutions as prime instruments of global governance have left Canadian foreign policy searching for new purpose and direction. From Pride to Influence brings Canadian foreign policy into the twenty-first century by grounding it in a conception of the national interest that accepts the primacy of the United States in guaranteeing Canadian national security and prosperity.

From Cold War to New Millennium
Author: Bernd Horn
Publisher: Dundurn
ISBN: 1459711130
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 499
Book Description
Canadian regimental histories are war stories that provide testimony to the feats of courage and tenacity of Canadians tested in combat or engaged in the sometimes tedious regimen of peace. These regimental histories speak to the collective military heritage and legacy of the country. They are, in fact, windows on our nation and ourselves. This volume, the companion to Establishing a Legacy, the first volume, provides a detailed account of The Royal Canadian Regiments story from 1953 to 2008. The RCRs history after the Korean War paralleled the growth and evolution of Canada through dangerous and trying times, from the brink of nuclear Armageddon to a freefall of global destabilization, economic catastrophe, resurging global terrorism, and the birth of transnational terror networks. The RCR contributed to the victory in the Cold War, participated in the bitter stabilization campaigns of the 1990s in the former Yugoslavia, and fought and bled heavily in the reconstruction and counter-insurgency battle in Afghanistan.
