It was through years of written correspondence between Mr. Meoli and Lee Malvo (including hundreds of letters), and over 50 hours of telephone calls, that Lee decided it was time to tell his side of the story which has never been told before. The "Diary," which has been fully authorized for release by Malvo, explains the psychological triggers, emotional and traumatic life events that eventually allowed him to become one-half of the D.C. In October of 2002, a series of sniper attacks paralyzed the Washington Beltway, turning normally placid gas stations, parking lots, restaurants, and school grounds into chaotic killing fields.
