The key is solid technical analysis. Inside, you will learn the nuts and bolts of charting, identifying indicators, recognizing trends, and selecting the best stocks for your goals. This step-by-step guide shows you how to: Read the emotional characteristics of the markets in order to better direct investments Pinpoint the most profitable entry and exit points Effectively use the long-term timing tools preferred by top experts, including investor sentiment, relative strength, and trend recognition Cut through short-term noise with the Kondratiev Wave Cycle, Four-Year Cycle, and simple long-term chart analysis Deemer on Technical Analysis also weaves in entertaining and clarifying anecdotes from the author’s colorful life working at prestigious firms, where he rubbed elbows with A-list icons of Wall Street. Each anecdote reinforces real-world applications of covered material to help you more effectively seize opportunities in the financial markets. From his early days with Bob Farrell at Merrill Lynch and Gerry Tsai at the Manhattan Fund, to his years as head of market analysis at Putnam Investments and president of DTR, Inc., Deemer has been dispensing timely advice exclusively to top figures in the field. Now, in his quasi-retirement, this technician’s technician has written a book that levels the playing field, so that you, too, can invest like a pro.

Book Description
School districts are experiencing increasing economic, racial, ethnic, linguistic, gender and sexuality, cultural diversity across the United States and globally. With increasing diversity and persistent social inequities widening (National Center for Educational Statistics, 2019; U.S. Census Data, 2018), educational leaders face immense challenges and must actively work to build an equitable, healthy school climate. Educational leaders are critical for ensuring positive student outcomes and success, but often report feeling inadequately prepared for current challenges (Coalition for Teacher Equality, 2016; Jordan, 2012; Miller, 2013; Mitani, 2018; Papa, 2007). Unfortunately, growing challenges are contributing to high school administrator turnover rates and shortages (Gates et al., 2006; Jacob et al., 2015; Mordechay & Orfield, 2017) as well as perpetuating social inequities among preK-12 students instead of dismantling them (Beckett, 2018; Fuller, 2012; Manna, 2015; Rangel, 2018; Shankar-Brown, 2015). A research study by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) and the Learning Policy Institute (LPI) reveals that public schools with higher percentages of low-income students and students of color are more likely to experience administrative and teacher turnover, which compounds equity issues affecting already vulnerable students (Levin and Bradley, 2019). This book provides educational leaders with a deeper understanding of equity-focused and inclusive leadership practices, while offering intersectional views on social inequalities and stark reminders of the work still ahead. Connecting theory to practice, this book offers needed encouragement and inspiration to both in-service and practicing educational leaders. Rooted in social justice and weaving together diverse voices, this edited volume systematically examines equity-focused PreK-12 and higher education leadership practices. Shankar-Brown (Ed.) calls on educational leaders to collectively rise and mindfully work together to bend the arc toward justice.

Book Description
This book tells the remarkable but virtually unknown story of how the quiet, conservative residents of a small, poor Nebraska community refused to be seduced by the oratory of the people than run this country, or by the offer of $3 million a year for 40 years (despite the fact that the economy of the community was extremely depressed) - and tenaciously fought the powers-that-be (i.e., the state government, the federal government, and Bechtel) against locating a low-level nuclear waste dump site in its backyard. Boyd County's right-wing farmers rose up in revolt, and eventual victory. It took them a decade of bitter struggle, but it transformed a small group of farmers from isolationist rebels to ardent environmentalists, altered the scope of the U.S.'s nuclear waste policy, and moved a fly-over state to change from Republican to Democrat.; Well researched (as the author has worked from hundreds of source documents and 10,000 pages of transcribed interviews), this engaging, witty book will undoubtedly get publicity and will catch the imagination of a large cross-section of Americans today who are, once again, inclined to trust neither our government nor the powerful multinational corporations that, once again, may not have our people's best interests at heart.
