Enslavement, forced migration, war and colonization have led to the global dispersal of Black communities and to the fragmentation of common experiences. This book examines the problem of accountability in two African political systems, South Africa and Nigeria. Development has remained elusive in Africa. Through theoretical contributions and case studies focusing on Southern Africa’s former white settler states, South Africa and Zimbabwe, this volume responds to the current need to rethink (and unthink) development in the region.
