Book Description
Horse of Karbala is a study of Muharram rituals and interfaith relations in three locations in India: Ladakh, Darjeeling, and Hyderabad. These rituals commemorate an event of vital importance to Shia Muslims: the seventh-century death of the Imam Husain, grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, at the battlefield of Karbala in Iraq. Pinault examines three different forms of ritual commemoration of Husain's death - poetry-recital and self-flagellation in Hyderabad; stick-fighting in Darjeeling; and the 'Horse of Karbala' procession, in which a stallion representing the mount ridden in battle by Husain is made the center of a public parade in Ladakh and other Indian localities. The book looks at how publicly staged rituals serve to mediate communal relations: in Hyderabad and Darjeeling, between Muslim and Hindu populations; in Ladakh, between Muslims and Buddhists. Attention is also given to controversies within Muslim communities over issues related to Muharram such as the belief in intercession by the Karbala Martyrs on behalf of individual believers.

Book Description
Earth is undergoing constant changes from the beginning of its formation. After the formation of the planet around 4.54 billion years ago, it has been changing ever since. In the beginning, it was in a liquid gas form which eventually cooled down and the surface took a hard-solid form during the time period of nearly 2 billion years after the creation of the earth. First life on the surface of earth was created about 3.8 billion years ago. And only less than 5 million years ago Homo sapiens developed. Within this really short period of time of existence compared to the age of the earth, mankind has been developing fast. And the main fuel of this development has been science and the technological advancements derived from the knowledge of science. The development of science started the moment humans created fire for the first time and now the knowledge of science has become so vast and widespread that it is literally impossible for an individual to even go through the complete knowledge acquired by humans. In the knowledge and the scientific practices, the environment plays an important role. As we are surrounded by the materials of the environment, they affect every single effort of science to understand the unknown and to develop new ways of development. In every aspect of science, the environment plays an important role which cannot be neglected or overlooked. To address the effect of the atmosphere and environment around us in our everyday life as well as in the development of science, the scientists have been feeling the necessity to modify the acquired knowledge to acknowledge and understand the effects of environment on the facts explore. And this is where environmental physics comes in. Environmental physics is a part of physics which discuss and describes the effect of environment on many scientific effects and vice versa. In order to understand and face the rapid changes in the atmosphere and to make proper utilization of the discoveries conducted by science, it is important to understand the physical effects of different simulations on the environment and also to develop the ways of controlling them. This book was developed to make the readers easily understand the close interrelation of physics with biology, chemistry, and environmental science as well as providing knowledge about the interrelations within different natural forces and their effects on each other as well as on the environment. If this book is able to help the reads in understanding the deep relationship within different Book jacket.

Book Description
God created a game - it's called The Game of Life. Planet Earth is the playing field, the 10 love commandments are the rules, and we humans are the players who can win or lose. The game is played by two teams, like the game of football. One team's head coach is Jesus and the other team's head coach is Satan. All of us on earth are playing for one of these two teams! Gabriel Ansley Erb wrote the book "2028 END" in order to fully elucidate God's game clock scenario for The Game of Life as contained in the game's handbook, the Holy Bible. The handbook says, "God declared the end from the beginning" (Isaiah 46:10) by using 7 days in the creation event. Each 24 hour creation day foretold of a future 1,000 year period for a total 7,000 year plan God had for The Game of Life to be played on planet earth. And amazingly, to confirm this is all true, God hid a secret prophesy in each creation day foretelling the greatest event He had planned to occur in that day's future millennium!Consequently, Creation day 1 foretold Adam & Eve's fall, which was fulfilled during earth's 1st millennium. Creation day 2 foretold Noah's global flood, which was fulfilled during earth's 2nd millennium. Creation day 3 foretold Moses' Red Sea parting, which was fulfilled during earth's 3rd millennium. Creation day 4 foretold of John the Baptist & Jesus Christ, and so they lived and died during earth's 4th millennium. And the prophecies continue with each Creation day!Gabriel proves all of the above, carefully revealing the prophetic Scriptures as well as the fulfillment Scriptures. Then he reveals a dozen Scriptures proving Christ died earth's 4,000 year and will return earth's 6,000 year. Finally, he proves Christ died Feast of Passover AD 28 and will return Feast of Trumpets 2028. For those who read this book, it is an open and shut case: The Game of Life will end 2,000 years from the year of Christ's death on the cross - AD 2028.

Book Description
Volume 23 of Advances in Chemical Engineering covers the active field of process synthesis. There are currently three prevelant approaches to complex process synthesis strategies: heuristics-based selection, geometric representation, and optimization methods. This volume addresses a variety of these synthesis strategies for process subsystems, representing only a sample of the state-of-the-art of process synthesis research. The five papers in this volume address quite different process subsystems and application areas but still combine basic concepts related to a systematic approach. All five of the papers develop successful synthesis methods for their respective cutting-edge applications. As a group, the papers serve to highlight many unresolved issues in process synthesis and also provide guidelines for future research.
