He also had 44 of them completed in calendar winter and had hoped to finish them in the 2014-2015 winter year. Sadly, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November of 2013 and passed away in March 2014. The book is a series of his trip reports along with his photographs of many of his 14er mountain climbs.
