Book Description
This set contains the complete romantic suspense CROSSING LINES collection. FINE LINE Two years undercover in a motorcycle club changes a man. Case closed, but Nick Tucker isn't sure who he is anymore--DEA agent or criminal. When he's the only one who will stand up to the bully, Savannah looks at him as though he's her hero. Can he find his way back to being a good guy for her? There's a fine line between right and wrong. BLURRED LINE As a CIA officer, Silas Steele had no problem crossing lines others wouldn’t…except for treason. Then he met Kira Petrova, a Russian spy on American soil. That clear line between good and evil blurred, and he realized in order to protect his country, he’d have to betray it first. HARD LINE When she left me, I didn’t try to stop her. But I never let her go. Now she’s in trouble, and I’ll do whatever it takes to prove she needs me again. This time around, she won’t be the one who got away.

CIA operative Elizabeth Aiken is on her own. After a rescue operation in Venezuela goes south and her cover is blown, Elizabeth barely escapes the country with her life. Set adrift by the agency and with a price on her head, she seeks out the only person who can help her disappear. Viper. Unfortunately, the devastatingly attractive former operative wants nothing to do with her or the cartel-backed Venezuelan president who wants her dead. Worse still, if Elizabeth’s not careful, she’ll end up losing her heart instead of watching her back…and there’s no room for mistakes with assassins hot on her trail. Helping her could destroy everything he’s worked for. Former Marine-turned-CIA operative. Current bar owner. All-around badass. Shane “Viper” Quinn has spent years constructing the perfect cover, and he’s not about to sacrifice it for a woman he barely knows. Even if she is strong and beautiful and makes him long for sultry nights that could destroy his carefully crafted life. Still, Shane is forced to fight his growing attraction to the fearsome ex-agent while keeping her in one piece. Elizabeth’s enemies are now his enemies—and they aren’t going to stop until everyone who stands against them is eliminated. Will having the deadly Viper by her side be enough to save her?

Crossing Lines
Author: Madhavi Devasher
Publisher: Taylor & Francis
ISBN: 1040007147
Category : Social Science
Languages : en
Pages : 191
Book Description
This book explains why, how, and where ethnic political parties unexpectedly seek votes from non-coethnics and when voters support non-coethnic parties. It draws on case studies of three Indian states (Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan) and of Indian national elections to demonstrate how differences in party systems impact political party strategies and voter choices. It shows that multipolar party systems encourage political parties to provide physical security, representation, and economic benefits for minorities, especially Muslims, in India and as a result, foster cross-ethnic links between parties and voters. However, as political arenas become dominated by two or even one party, advocacy for the interests of marginalized groups declines, weakening cross-ethnic linkages. The book thus explains why representation and advocacy for Muslims in Uttar Pradesh and at the national level has alternated dramatically in the 21st century. Based on original fieldwork and supplemented by existing surveys and secondary sources from the 1990s to the present day, the book addresses critical themes such as inclusion and substantive representation in a democracy, caste and minority politics, ethnic violence, and inter-ethnic linkages between politicians and voters. Demonstrating why political parties support and protect the interests of marginalized ethnic groups in certain political conditions but not others, the volume also speaks to larger questions of the health of multiethnic democracies and democratic backsliding around the world.

Foundations of Diatonic Theory
Author: Timothy A. Johnson
Publisher: Scarecrow Press
ISBN: 9780810862135
Category : Mathematics
Languages : en
Pages : 200
Book Description
Foundations of Diatonic Theory: A Mathematically Based Approach to Music Fundamentals is an introductory, undergraduate-level textbook that provides an easy entry point into the challenging field of diatonic set theory, a division of music theory that applies the techniques of discrete mathematics to the properties of diatonic scales. After introducing mathematical concepts that relate directly to music theory, the text concentrates on these mathematical relationships, firmly establishing a link between introductory pedagogy and recent scholarship in music theory. It then relates concepts in diatonic set theory directly to the study of music fundamentals through pedagogical exercises and instructions. Ideal for introductory music majors, the book requires only a general knowledge of mathematics, and the exercises are provided with solutions and detailed explanations. With its basic description of musical elements, this textbook is suitable for courses in music fundamentals, music theory for non-music majors, music and mathematics, and other similar courses that allow students to improve their mathematics skills while pursuing the study of music.
