Excerpt from Constitution and by-Laws of the Boston Art Club: With a List of Its Officers, Members and Committees, and the Rules of the Board of Management, October 1, 1890 Be It Enacted, by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: Section 1. - Charles C. Perkins, Horace H. Moses, George D. Russell, their associates and successors, are hereby made a Corporation, by the name of the Boston Art Club, to be located in the City of Boston, for the purpose of advancing the fine arts by the establishment of an Art Gallery and Library, with all the powers and privileges, and subject to all the duties, restrictions, and liabilities set forth in all general laws which now are, or hereafter may be, in force, applicable to such corporations. Section 2. - Said corporation, for the purpose aforesaid, may hold real and personal estate to an amount not exceeding one hundred thousand dollars.
