Book Description
Excerpt from Commercial Feeding Stuffs: 1960 Report on Inspection The statute relating to concentrated commercial feeding stuffs (chapter 428, General Statutes, Revision of 1958) imposes upon the Station: (1) all duties incidental to the annual registra tion of feeds offered for sale in the State; (2) the collection of samples for inspection and analysis; (3) the examination of all samples so collected; (4) the preparation and publication of a bulletin summarizing the results of inspection and giving other pertinent information; and (5) joint responsibility with the Food and Drug Commissioner for rules and regulations carrying out the provisions of the law. As a result of a general reorganization of State departments by the General Assembly in 1959, the Food and Drug Commission was abolished and its duties transferred to a new Department of Consumer Protection. Section 22-116 of the 1959 Revision of the General Statutes delegates the enforcement provisions of the feed law to the Com missioner of Consumer Protection.
