Preocupados por el tema y sus consecuencias, tres investigadores de la Universidad de Lima analizaron la factibilidad de producir en el Perú combustibles “limpios”, como el biodiesel y el bioetanol, a partir de materias oleaginosas o de azúcares, para uno y otro caso, en la fabricación de carburantes alternativos que reemplacen progresivamente a los tradicionales. Asimismo, estudiaron la tecnología de los procesos productivos y los aspectos de costos de inversión y operación, que se entregan en este volumen como un aporte a la protección y la conservación del medio ambiente.
