Book Description
Imagine a suburb beneath the waves; contemplate the idea of palatial living in a pyramid amongst the stars. Codes Set in Stone embraces both of these somewhat grandiose scenarios in a story set in the not too distant future. Containing the essential ingredients of Relationship, Romance and Rescue, the novel tells of men on a mission to solve mysteries and investigate intrigue and skulduggery - a mission that takes them from Belgium to Venice to Rome to the Himalayas and back again and finally culminates in the discovery of an age-old promise contained in a revelatory book with its conundrum of a final code set in a bright, white, shining stone. It is interesting to note that several of the hitherto fictitious events in the story subsequently became fact after the initial manuscript first saw the light of day.

The Code of Hammurabi
Author: Hammurabi
Publisher: E-Kitap Projesi & Cheapest Books
ISBN: 6057876644
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 46
Book Description
The Code of Hammurabi is a well-preserved Babylonian law code of ancient Mesopotamia, dating back to about 1754 BC. It is one of the oldest deciphered writings of significant length in the world. The sixth Babylonian king, Hammurabi, enacted the code, and partial copies exist on a man-sized stone stele and various clay tablets. The Code consists of 282 laws, with scaled punishments, adjusting "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" (lex talionis) as graded depending on social status, of slave versus free man. Nearly one-half of the Code deals with matters of contract, establishing, for example, the wages to be paid to an ox driver or a surgeon. Other provisions set the terms of a transaction, establishing the liability of a builder for a house that collapses, for example, or property that is damaged while left in the care of another. A third of the code addresses issues concerning household and family relationships such as inheritance, divorce, paternity, and sexual behavior. Only one provision appears to impose obligations on an official; this provision establishes that a judge who reaches an incorrect decision is to be fined and removed from the bench permanently. A few provisions address issues related to military service. Hammurabi ruled for nearly 42 years, c. 1792 to 1750 BC according to the Middle chronology. In the preface to the law, he states, "Anu and Bel called by name me, Hammurabi, the exalted prince, who feared Marduk, the patron god of Babylon (The Human Record, Andrea & Overfield 2005), to bring about the rule in the land." On the stone slab there are 44 columns and 28 paragraphs that contained 282 laws. The laws follow along the rules of 'an eye for an eye'.

Celebrities and Movie Stars Death Bible Code, Vol. 1 – Their Deadly Diseases
Author: Steve Canada
Publisher: AuthorHouse
ISBN: 1491899123
Category : Biography & Autobiography
Languages : en
Pages : 103
Book Description
Celebrities and movie stars around the world die from different types of causes, among them diseases (the subject of Volume 1 of this 3 Volume series), cancers (Vol. 2, due out in March 2014), and other causes (Vol. 3: accidents [skiing, car crashes, plane crashes, fire, and drowning], murders, overdoses, and suicides – all found Bible-encoded with their names; due in April 2014). These are searched for, with the victims’ names, using a Bible Code program, and surprisingly all are found encoded, in the Torah, the Hebrew Bible. In this Vol. 1, deadly diseases of various specific kinds are found, along with the names of the celebrities and movie stars who died from them, all in the same Matrix (search result for the Key word, “malignancy”). An attempt is made to put the Bible Code mystery in the context of meaning, in the book’s Conclusion. Bible Code applications and method are explained in the Preface, Introduction, and Addendum 1. In memoriam for the departed, two original poems by the author are shown in the Epilogue; his poems have appeared in literary journals in 5 countries over 40 years and with at least one Nobel Prize winner for literature (Pablo Neruda, in The Paris Review).

Mixed Media
Author: Tom Bivins
Publisher: Routledge
ISBN: 1351788973
Category : Language Arts & Disciplines
Languages : en
Pages : 352
Book Description
Mixed Media offers students of journalism, advertising, and public relations the tools for making ethical and moral decisions within their professional disciplines. Covering both ethical theory and its practical application to the media professions, Mixed Media serves as an indispensable starting point for those seeking to develop an ethical framework with regard to mass media. Each media industry is covered with specific attention paid to relevant ethical decision-making approaches involving primary concerns such as truth telling, constituent obligations, persuasion versus advocacy, and respect for the consumers of public communication. In addition, the book covers new media and how ethics affect such concepts as social media, word-of-mouth advertising, and the impact of the digital revolution. And, new to this edition, recent concerns in areas such as satire and the dilemma of free speech versus constraint are discussed, as well as the quandry of native advertising in journalism. Readers will come away with a greater appreciation for moral philosophy and theory as a foundation for decision making, and will develop a personal "yardstick" by which to measure their decisions.

Event Code Uncovered
Author: Steve Canada
Publisher: AuthorHouse
ISBN: 1504908538
Category : Education
Languages : en
Pages : 214
Book Description
Death rears its ugly head everywhere and at all times, in all sorts of situations and under many kinds of circumstances and for a myriad of reasons, affecting people in surprising ways, but eventually coming for everyone no matter their station in life. But why do we find their demises encoded in the Five Books of Moses? What is it about a sacred text of 304,805 Hebrew letters that enables it to hold the whole history of humankind and encoded within it the specific circumstances under which particular people have died or are going to die? Connected to the types of events listed in this book are found the names of those who died in instances of those particular events, except in part 6 where only the historical political facts are found encoded, since the deaths of those named were not searched for in the Torah, but might be in a future book. The Jewish people gave the world the Eternal Book of Books, the original text of which, the Torah, is used here to explore some of what might be hidden in it. The Bible Codes Plus computer program used also contains the original text of the larger Tanach, Books outside the Five Books of Moses, which also can be searched for hidden, encoded names and terms. The Tanach is made of the Torah, the Navi'im (Prophets), and Chetuvim (Writings)all making up the Hebrew Bible, what Christians call the Old Testament.

Celebrities and Movie Stars Death Bible Code, Vol. 2 – Their Fatal Cancers
Author: Steve Canada
Publisher: AuthorHouse
ISBN: 149690382X
Category : Medical
Languages : en
Pages : 113
Book Description
Celebrities and movie stars, like everyone else, die from a variety of causes, including diseases (Vol.1 of this book) and cancers (Vol.2 of this book). When we ask if such causes of death are found encoded in the Torah along with the encoded names of who died from them, we find them all close together in one Torah Matrix (from Gen. 1:1 to 1 Samuel 10:17). For those uninitiated into the Bible Code mystery this might sound outlandish and impossible, but viewing the many Torah Matrices in this book, labeled clearly in black and white as secretly encoded facts staring us in the face might give pause to even the biggest skeptic. Volume 3 of this book will show the Torah-Bible Code Matrices of celebrities and movie stars deaths by accidents, murders, overdoses, and suicides their names found encoded in the Five Books of Moses, some with the year and location of their death; as another e-book through Author House, later in 2014. Thousands of similar results have been found by the author, covering many sorts of historical events ranging from the names of victims of natural disasters (e.g., Fukushima), ships sinking (e.g., Titanic), planes and trains and cars crashing (e.g. James Dean), assassinations worldwide over 4000 years (e.g., an Egyptian pharaoh, JFK, and John Lennon), Nazi Holocaust, mass shootings (Aurora, Columbine, Tucson, etc.), terror attacks (Benghazi, Boston Marathon, Fort Hood, 9/11), and war casualties (e.g., Vietnam, Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan). Even though there are only about 50 or fewer personalities identified by name in each of these three volumes, and shown encoded with how and where they died, each Volume could be expanded to hold many thousands of names and pages, one name per page of Matrix revealing those Torah-held secrets hidden for about 3400 years, and revealed here to the world for the first time in recorded history.
