Book Description
Until the 1977 publication of L.D. MacIntyre's Clan MacIntyre - A Journey to the Past, the only published history of Clan MacIntyre was The MacIntyres of Glenoe and Camus-na-h-Erie (1901) by Duncan MacIntyre, 14th of Camus-na-h-Erie - 20 pages and one illustration. The 1st edition of this history greatly expanded on that effort with 82 pages, 30 photographs and illustrations. The text relied greatly on the 1936 unpublished history and stories by Alexander James MacIntyre of Inveraray. In 1995, no copies remained and L.D.'s son decided to write a 2nd edition. In 1997, he received a draft copy of the 1991 unpublished Clan MacIntyre by Duncan McIntyre of Sydney, Australia. It was an essential resource for this 2nd edition, just as Alexander's 1936 unpublished history was for the 1st edition. Knowing the many items L.D. had to omit and interest in a second edition, the size of the effort expanded ten-fold involving a great deal more time, research and writing skill than the author had anticipated. The 2nd edition has 320 pages with 104 photographs, maps, charts, tables, drawings, historic documents, tour guide, poems and music compositions, of which over half are in color. There is something for MacIntyres of all ages and interests.

Book Description
Seas and oceans cover most of the Earth's surface, yet we know less about what lies beneath them than we do about stars and planets millions of miles away. The seas are filled with intriguing mysteries: How were they formed? What gave rise to stories of sirens, mermaids, and mermen? Where did the old pirates and buccaneers hide their treasure? The answers to these questions and more can be found in Unsolved Mysteries of the Sea.

Book Description
A mother pleads with her son not to sail on a certain steamer because she has dreamt - three times in a row - that the vessel will never reach its destination. Modern-day observers watch in awe as a ghost ship - blazing from bow to stern - dutifully reenacts a two-hundred-year-old tragedy that the observers'' fathers and grandfathers also watched reenacted with the same sense of awe. A crewman walks past a solitary figure seated in the ship''s restaurant only to turn a moment later and find the restaurant empty. A red glow appears in the darkness ahead of a modern warship, and the faint outline of an old galleon, her sails in tatters, is seen approaching against the wind - only to vanish a moment later before the startled eyes of observers. Such strange events have been seen for centuries and continue to be reported even today by witnesses who are, for the most part, sober and responsible human beings. In Lost at Sea folklore specialist Michael Goss and George Behe, an expert on maritime disasters, explore what lies behind these amazing narratives and enduring legends.
