Book Description
John Davis was born ca. 1730 in Wales. He was probably the grandson of Josiah and Elizabeth Hope Davis of Chester County, Wales, and may have been the son of Jonathan Davis (d. 1765) of Chester County, Pennsylvania. He immigrated to Pennsylvania, ca. 1750, and settled first in Chester County. He migrated to Virginia, probably Middlesex County, in 1770, and later migrated to Montgomery County, Kentucky. He married several times and was the father of eighteen children. His will was written in Montgomery County in 1828 and proved in 1829. Descendants listed lived in Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Utah, Texas, and elsewhere.
