Book Description
Introducing a witty and unique voice poised to take the literary world by storm. For fans of The Borrowers, Munmun and The Truckers. Everybody became a bit mean. A bit individual. Units. That's all humanity could say for itself – well, it couldn't actually, because it was made up of too many, um, units. And then there were the elderly, who could never bear to be so isolated, yet isolated they were. It was cruel, really it was. And kids – not that many people had them any more – they seemed to be born sitting in one of those egg-shaped chairs, only seeing what was right in front of them. So, the government asked a doctor, that famous one, to get a team together and figure it all out. He did. Everyone got a playmate. Well, everyone who wanted one, could buy a playmate. About a foot tall, they stood, naked (except in winter), very affectionate, not too intelligent. Mute, but cute - exactly what every home needs. Something to love, little units of love. The Biggerers is set in a dystopian future where our two heroes, Bonbon and Jinx, spend their days gathering stones and feathers for their basket, and waiting to be fed by their owners. But it’s not long before getting sick, falling in love and wondering why they can’t eat with a spoon pushes them to realise they are exactly the same as their owners…only smaller.

Book Description
Cats have been popular household pets for thousands of years, and their numbers only continue to rise. Today there are three cats for every dog on the planet, and yet cats remain more mysterious, even to their most adoring owners. Unlike dogs, cats evolved as solitary hunters, and, while many have learned to live alongside humans and even feel affection for us, they still don’t quite “get us” the way dogs do, and perhaps they never will. But cats have rich emotional lives that we need to respect and understand if they are to thrive in our company. In Cat Sense, renowned anthrozoologist John Bradshaw takes us further into the mind of the domestic cat than ever before, using cutting-edge scientific research to dispel the myths and explain the true nature of our feline friends. Tracing the cat’s evolution from lone predator to domesticated companion, Bradshaw shows that although cats and humans have been living together for at least eight thousand years, cats remain independent, predatory, and wary of contact with their own kind, qualities that often clash with our modern lifestyles. Cats still have three out of four paws firmly planted in the wild, and within only a few generations can easily revert back to the independent way of life that was the exclusive preserve of their predecessors some 10,000 years ago. Cats are astonishingly flexible, and given the right environment they can adapt to a life of domesticity with their owners—but to continue do so, they will increasingly need our help. If we’re to live in harmony with our cats, Bradshaw explains, we first need to understand their inherited quirks: understanding their body language, keeping their environments—however small—sufficiently interesting, and becoming more proactive in managing both their natural hunting instincts and their relationships with other cats. A must-read for any cat lover, Cat Sense offers humane, penetrating insights about the domestic cat that challenge our most basic assumptions and promise to dramatically improve our pets’ lives—and ours.

Every Cat Has A Story is an exploration of the intimacy that exists between felines and their owners. Submitted from writers throughout the world, these stories touch on the synchronicity of Universal intervention which unites a cat with their person. As you enjoy these stories, possibly a new perspective of your own cat's special qualities may become evident. Your feline's life has not gone unnoticed, for you have been a living testament to the delight and enchantment they have brought into your family. Every cat does indeed have a story, a moment and a legacy that touches their owner's world in a significant manner. A sampling of the 16 stories includes: The Blue Angel & Her Garden of Pets, one man's connection to feline spirituality which ultimately connects us one to the other. Finding Karma at the SPCA is a story of Universal destiny in which a cat immediately recognizes her owner, yet neither had ever met before. My Cat is So Insolent, She Has A Price on Her Head, is written with a dry sense of humor exploring the what ifs of a cat lover and her lessons learned. Caterina, Portrait of a Feline Soul Mate, is the kitten we all seek but would we have the awareness to recognize her in a room full of kittens? Then again, would she recognize us? This is an intriguing, educational and entertaining collection of cat stories that you may fondly recall during those private moments shared only with your cat.

Book Description
I had many duties to do over my life, but one was a pleasure, gave me hours of companionship, and that was my fatherly duties to my many cats, who loved me, probably more, than I loved them. I remember them by their names, but cherish them by their individual personalities! from my first cat, Tiger, who taught me how to love cats, through the many in-between, to the three cats I have today, I have learned much about cats They came in all colors, designs, and war paint, from all jet Black to Golden Blonde, all White to all Orange, Cashew bodies with Brown feet and tails, Striped all over with White feet, or Black and White, dressed up in coat and tails, like a Tuxedo. And their eyes, what eyes, standing out in elegance, with colors that ranged from brilliant blue, to jet black, greenish to bright orange. When they looked at you through their slitted eyes, you might think they were reading your mind. If you loved them enough, you could almost, well actually, read their minds! "Where have you been, your late getting home to feed me" you might get a thought of. "Are you alright tonight, you don't look happy", they might send you, as they run up onto your lap. They make liars out of people who think they are dumb animals, and we owners, who are owned by them, have realized soon after our first cat, that they are anything but dumb! So it became evident on that morning, when I recently woke up from a dream about my many cats, that I had to tell their story, which will of course be somewhat entwined with mine! As I remembered them, they will each have their own chapter or will share a chapter with their mates, other cats who lived together, and some times, a bird or dog's! I will start my first chapter with my first cat, Tigger, and continue each chapter with their names, and hope I can remember all of them. I hope the reader will enjoy finding out about all of my "Peanuts", as much as I will about telling about them.
