Dreamers & Doers
Author: Janika Vaikjärv
Publisher: Strategic Book Publishing & Rights Agency
ISBN: 1681814943
Category : Travel
Languages : en
Pages : 297
Book Description
Dreamers & Doers is the world’s first book about women who have climbed Kilimanjaro. More than 50 authors of 30 different nationalities have contributed their inspirational stories to this one-of-a-kind book. The idea for the book was born a few years ago. An old Kilimanjaro guide told the author about his life, and that he was working solely to support his grandchildren – without his help they could not afford an education. This little story was the beginning of something big: a book and a school textbook. Women and Kilimanjaro. Children and education. The mission of the book is to inspire women around the world to dream bigger and to do what is needed to fulfil their dreams. It also aims to draw attention to more equal opportunities for education for all children. Everyone who buys Dreamers & Doers provides one Tanzanian schoolchild with a textbook.

Since he was five years old all Tyler Kincaid really knew was baseball from when his great-grandfather gave him a 1920’s era baseball glove and he began to use it. By the time Tyler was in his late thirties baseball was still, for the most part, all that he had known. But now, sensing his playing days were coming to a close Tyler began to search for what life had in store for him next. Tyler then found himself in the small town of Cummings Hicks where he was playing for this city’s minor league baseball team. Little did he know that the town’s mysterious past and an unlikely source would help provide him the answers he was looking for, by learning about some of baseball’s most unusual history and anomalies.

Proud to Be from Middle Tennessee
Author: Thomas Nelson
Publisher: Thomas Nelson
ISBN: 1418559229
Category : Travel
Languages : en
Pages : 98
Book Description
The Nashville Scene created “Calling All Kids . . . The Nashville Write-Off” in 1996 as a way to inspire young writers. This year, the weekly paper asked its budding authors to address the following topic: “My Favorite Things to Do in Middle Tennessee.” Entry forms were run in the Scene over several weeks, and were also distributed at various malls, pizza joints, and at least one optometrist’s office. Soon, essays were flooding our offices. After a panel of judges was convened to review the works, one grand prize winner was selected from each age category (ages 6–12, and 13–18), and a number of honorable mentions were selected as well. The winners were announced at the Southern Festival of Books, and they were awarded cash prizes. The winners were also assured of having their work published. This book, in fact, is a compilation of the winning works.
