Book Description
Ever dreamed of owning a restaurant? I know I have. I think owning a restaurant would be fun. But it would require a lot of hours and a lot of work. So I settle for dreaming about restaurants I'd like to eat at. Undoubtedly it will happen that when I'm with others, they'll ask where I want to go to eat. Since I can't actually believe they'll go where I want to go, I let them decide. Besides, I can dream of much better restaurants than any that actually exist. So, since I'm not going to create these restaurants, I decided to tell you about them. Perhaps you'll create them. Even if you don't, I'm sure you'll want to eat there. I know I do! These 16 restaurants are scrumptilicious!

ISBN:
Category : Computers

Pages : 142
Book Description
Designing Your Website to Use Less Energy explores simple changes you can make to your website that will cause it to use less energy. We don't often think about the amount of power being used to surf the Internet, but it's quite a lot. If all websites were designed to use less energy, we could save a lot of energy. One of the most important considerations when designing a website to use less energy is to make it load quickly. Part of that depends on where your website sits - your web host. Part of that depends on your images. Part depends on ads. Part depends on how simply your website is coded. In fact, Google will downgrade your web page in its search algorithm if your web page doesn't load quickly. Designing Your Website to Use Less Energy covers choosing a web host, performance, plug-ins and services, making your own plug-in, energy-saving colors, and printing. Performance covers lessening the impact of images, Javascript, CSS, photo frameworks, and database queries, plus other tricks you can use to make your page load faster. If you're a big corporation, there are tools from Google, Facebook, and Twitter you can use. If you're not a large corporation and don't have a lot of time, this audiobook will help you get your website loading faster and will help you save energy. The more users you have who browse your website, the more energy you'll save. Listening ease: medium. Listening level: eighth grade. Maturity: general audience.

What Would Terry Do?
Author: Dale Stubbart
Publisher: Dale Stubbart
ISBN:
Category : Health & Fitness
Languages : en
Pages : 135
Book Description
Shortly after the turn of the century, my wife Terry and I moved to the mountains of Colorado. Shortly after that, I wrote this humorous book about our lives and how my hero wife lived in spite of the debilitating illness of MCS – Multiple Chemical Sensitivities. This book was mainly written to help us laugh in spite of our difficulties. In the meantime, you’ll get a closer look at how toxic chemicals affect the canaries (first to react) like Terry. And you’ll gain some insights on how to avoid them. Not only is Terry allergic to all man-made chemicals, she’s also allergic to several foods. Luckily she’s not allergic to plants or animals. Yeah, so you’ve got allergies – take a shot for them! Well except unless you’re allergic to the shot. And, they don’t make one for these allergies. So Terry lives with the severe face pain, the mind fog, the lack of energy. And she swears every time she’s out for a walk and somebody is doing their laundry with some fragranced detergent – her biggest bane. Sometimes she falters and doesn’t bear it well, but to me, she’s always a hero. This is her story. Enjoy! Rating G; Reading Level Easy 6th Grade; Longest Word: Monodextrohexaoctalgluconate; Longest real word: Environmentalists

The Dancer IV
Author: Dale Stubbart
Publisher: Dale Stubbart
ISBN:
Category : Young Adult Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 38
Book Description
A friend who read The Dancer, said she felt like she was right in the story. When the Dancer danced, she danced. But perhaps you don’t relate to the Dancer, there are plenty of other main characters you can relate to. There’s the Dancer, who is now called the Dancer Magnifique, or just Magnifique for short. There’s her husband, Straight-Spear, the Chief’s son. He dances on his horse, Rides-Like-Thunder. Rides-Like-Thunder is a god. Magnifique and Straight-Spear’s daughter is now Dancer, following in her mother’s footsteps. However, she will dance atop Rides-Like-Thunder, while her mother will not. There’s the Shaman and the Director. Their first meeting didn’t go well, as she swung Dancer’s shoes at him and knocked him out. But now they’re buddy-buddy. They act as Grandparents to Dancer. And there’s Ramon and Raul – Magnifique’s boyfriends before she met Straight-Spear. Now they’re buddy-buddy. In the fourth story, Dancer is left all alone. She is old enough to be all alone. But she’s used to being among several adults, whom she can rely on for help, most of the time. She doesn’t need their help, but just in case. All the adults in her life have left, including Rides-Like-Thunder. They’ve all gone to other worlds for various reasons. They will be back, but for she is alone. And it’s enough to make the Author cry (I forgot to mention that the Author is one of the main characters.) She was all alone, so she did what she always did – she danced. She danced for joy, she danced for strength, she danced for sorrow, she danced for weariness. She danced because she didn’t know what else to do. She had been dancing ever since they left. What had it been, 7, maybe 8 days now? She didn’t know. At some point, she would fall exhausted, asleep, and stop dancing. But not yet. She felt she could go on for ages. Rated G; Reading level very easy 5th grade; Longest word - categorization
