Book Description
No title? No power? No problem. The band of brothers known as The Honorables rock the Regency ton in this refreshing and sophisticated historical romance series by bestselling author Elizabeth Boyce. Honor Among Thieves: Desperate measures spur Lorna to drastic circumstances when she joins a group of resurrectionists to help pay off her deceased brother’s gambling debts. By day, she’s a respectable lady of society; by night, she’s the infamous graverobber known only as The Blackbird. When she meets surgeon and anatomist Brandon Dewhurst, she experiences love for the first time. But when her secret identity is revealed and tragedy strikes, will that love be lost? Truth Within Dreams: Desperate to escape her arranged marriage, Miss Claudia Baxter stages her own ruin in the bed of another man, Henry De Vere, a lifelong friend she trusts to go along with the ruse. But when her unwitting accomplice believes something actually happened between them, Claudia may be caught in her own trap. Duty Before Desire: Consummate rake Lord Sheridan Zouche meets the one woman he cannot seduce—Arcadia Parks, an Englishwoman born and raised in India, who has just arrived in London to find a husband. With nothing to offer but his looks and charm, Sheri’s never been interested in marriage. But to win the favors of the lady he’s become obsessed with, Sheri will have to use every seductive trick at his disposal, and maybe one he’s never tried: love. Valor Under Siege: Ambitious solicitor Norman Wynford-Scott’s life plan starts with running for the Parliament seat of a local village. Only trouble is, the irresistible woman who once ruined his good name is thwarting his campaign at every turn. Divorced and drink-addicted, Lady Elsa Fay has retreated to the family village of Fleck to regain her sobriety. She’s distracting herself from her troubles by organizing the Parliament campaign of her husband’s cousin. Shamed and determined, Elsa will do all she can to send her adversary packing—even if it means breaking her own heart in the process. Love Beyond Measure: After a rough start in life, Harrison Dyer wanted a quiet, country existence. But fate (and a storm in the Indian Ocean) drives him to Siam, a world away from everything he’s ever known. In this beautiful, ancient land, Harrison finds Lamai, the woman who can soothe his battered heart. But European trade in the East can be a cutthroat affair—literally—and rivals from another company won’t let Harrison move in on their territory without a fight. Only if he and Lamai put their heads—and hearts—together can they finally find the peace and love they’ve been seeking. Sensuality Level: Sensual

Book Description
Richard, a hapless, middle-aged academic in a central London university, becomes involved in a possible murder mystery. Led on by Sara, his young and energetic friend, they search for the truth behind the apparent suicide of the university's HR Director. Richard, not a natural detective, bumbles self-effacingly through the investigation as they crisscross the university and a regenerating South London, repeatedly stumbling across badgers, a mysterious Director of Studies and a strange cohort of students. Helped by his old friend, the misogynistic but wily Professor D'Arcy, they are pitted against Professor Steele, the sinister head of department, and three clone-like administrators, the three Tims. Set within the confines of crime and intrigue, the themes of loneliness, purpose and identity gently underpin the story.

Book Description
Islands are special places; they can be havens for unique plants and animals and refuges for wildlife. This book investigates the biogeography of butterfly species over the British islands, particularly the factors that influence their presence on the islands and that have made each island's butterfly fauna distinctive. The book contains a full log of records of species on the islands and much supporting information. The first three chapters set the scene, illustrating the basics of island biogeography theory, their changing circumstances during the current Holocene interglacial, and studies of natural history of British butterflies that mark the islands as the most intensively studied region for wildlife in the world. The book advances by increasing resolution downscale from a European continental perspective, through patterns and changes on the British mainland, a comparison of the two dominant islands of Britain and Ireland, to a close inspection of the dynamics of species on the multitude of offshore islands. Detailed investigations include contrasts in species' richness on the islands and then of the incidences of each species. Case studies highlight the continual turnover of species on islands. Attention is then given to evolutionary changes since the time that glaciers enveloped Europe. A powerful message is conveyed for the maintenance of butterfly species on the smaller British islands now experiencing population losses at a rate unprecedented since the spread of the last ice sheets: the incontrovertible importance of maintaining populations of species on nearby mainland sources for islands as pools for future migrants.

Book Description
This book facilitates an integrative understanding of the development, genetics and evolution of butterfly wing patterns. To develop a deep and realistic understanding of the diversity and evolution of butterfly wing patterns, it is essential and necessary to approach the problem from various kinds of key research fields such as “evo-devo,” “eco-devo,” ”developmental genetics,” “ecology and adaptation,” “food plants,” and “theoretical modeling.” The past decade-and-a-half has seen a veritable revolution in our understanding of the development, genetics and evolution of butterfly wing patterns. In addition, studies of how environmental and climatic factors affect the expression of color patterns has led to increasingly deeper understanding of the pervasiveness and underlying mechanisms of phenotypic plasticity. In recognition of the great progress in research on the biology, an international meeting titled “Integrative Approach to Understanding the Diversity of Butterfly Wing Patterns (IABP-2016)” was held at Chubu University, Japan in August 2016. This book consists of selected contributions from the meeting. Authors include main active researchers of new findings of corresponding genes as well as world leaders in both experimental and theoretical approaches to wing color patterns. The book provides excellent case studies for graduate and undergraduate classes in evolution, genetics/genomics, developmental biology, ecology, biochemistry, and also theoretical biology, opening the door to a new era in the integrative approach to the analysis of biological problems.
