Book Description
The Tevatron at Fermilab continues to collect data at high luminosity resulting in datasets in excess of 6 fb−1 of integrated luminosity. The high collision energies allow for the observation of new heavy quark baryon states not currently accessible at any other facility. In addition to the ground state [Lambda]{sub b}, the spectroscopy and properties of the new heavy baryon states [Omega]{sub b}, [Xi]{sub b}, and [Sigma]{sub b}{sup (*)} as measured by the CDF and D0 Collaborations are presented.

Book Description
Due to an excellent mass resolution and a large amount of available data, the CDF experiment, located at the Tevatron proton-antiproton accelerator, allows the precise measurement of spectroscopic properties, like mass and decay width, of a variety of states. This was exploited to examine the first orbital excitations of the?{sub c} baryon, the resonances?{sub c}(2595) and?{sub c}(2625), in the decay channel?{sub c}?+?−, as well as the?{sub c} spin excitations?{sub c}(2455) and?{sub c}(2520) in its decays to?{sub c}+?− and?{sub c}+?− final states in a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.2 fb−1. We present measurements of the mass differences with respect to the?{sub c} and the decay widths of these states, using significantly higher statistics than previous experiments.

Book Description
The Tevatron collider at Fermilab provides a rich environment for B spectroscopy. Recently the first direct observation of the B{sub c} meson has reduced its mass uncertainty by two orders of magnitude. A search for [eta]{sub b} mesons provides the best limit on its production in p{bar p} colliders. In studies on orbitally excited B{sub d} mesons for the first time the narrow states could be separated from each other. The orbitally excited B{sub s} mesons have been observed for the first time. With the charged [Sigma]{sub b}{sup (*)} a second B baryon could be established beside the [Lambda]{sub b}.

Book Description
The Tevatron experiments CDF and D0 have filled many empty spots in the spectrum of heavy baryons over the last few years. The most recent results are described in this article: The first direct observation of the?{sub b}°, improved measurements of?{sub b} properties, a new measurement of the?{sub b} → J/?? branching ratio, and a high-statistics study of charm baryons.

Book Description
Using data from p{bar p} collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV recorded by the CDFII and D0 detectors at the Fermilab Tevatron, we present recent results on charm and bottom hadrons. The most recent CDF results on properties of the four bottom baryon resonant states [Sigma]{sub b}{sup (*)-}, [Sigma]{sub b}{sup (*)+}. New results on exotic [Upsilon](4140) state observed by CDF are also reported. A precise measurement of production rates of the lowest lying bottom baryon, [Lambda]{sub b}°, produced in the D0 detector is presented.

Book Description
The authors review recent results on heavy quark physics focusing on Run II measurements of B hadron spectroscopy and decay at the Tevatron. A wealth of new B physics measurements from CDF and D0 has been available. These include the spectroscopy of excited B states (B**, B**{sub s}) and the observation of the [Sigma]{sub b} baryon. The discussion of the decays of B hadrons and measurements of branching fractions focuses on charmless two-body decays of B 2!hh−. They report several new B{sub s}° and [Lambda]{sub b}° decay channels.

Book Description
Since March 2001 a new period of CDF data taking (called Run II) began at the p{bar p} Tevatron collider. The upgrade of Collider Detector at Fermilab improved the tracking system: the vertexing, triggering and particle identification capabilities. This has allowed a further development of B physics, because the B{sub s} and?{sub b} are produced in hadronic collisions. Here measurements of the mass and lifetime of?{sub b} in two decay channels are presented. Using particle identification (PID) information from the time of flight and the dE/dx, CDF performed pentaquark searches for?,?32{sup --,0} and?{sub c}°, following the recent interest in exotic baryon spectroscopy.

Book Description
The study of b-baryons is a unique opportunity at the Tevatron collider, which is the only running accelerator where these particles are expected to be produced. At the beginning of RunII of the Tevatron and after almost 30 years of the discovery of the b quark at Fermilab, the lack of statistics had restricted our knowledge on b-baryons to the observation of the lightest b-baryon, the [Lambda]{sub b}, and to its lifetime measured in decays which did not allow a fully reconstruction of this particle. I present results of the search for b-baryons in the D0 experiment. As part of this program, a precise measurement of the [Lambda]{sub b} lifetime was performed, and the discovery of the [Xi]{sub b}− resulted from an analysis of 1.3 fb−1 of data collected with the D0 detector during 2002-2006.
