Sowell Swift, before experiencing a life-transforming accident, was a physically normal young man of somewhat above-average intelligence. Although he is physically superior, he must still grow through difficult emotional development, and into maturity and manhood. He has to face what every adolescent faces - and inevitably, that is a daunting challenge.
