Book Description
In this wildly rich memoir, a director at some of the world's finest botanic gardens - Sydney, Kew and Melbourne - suggests such places are a cure for the world's ills. Tim Entwisle believes these sanctuaries can address the key threats of our time, such as climate change and plant extinction, while simultaneously serving up gorgeous landscapes and offering a balm to the weary human spirit. Evergreen reveals the noisy soundtrack to Tim Entwisle's life, why he prefers nature found kerbside rather than in the wild, and how he comes to have an alga (seaweed) named after him. Above all, it's an ode to the powerful mix of nature, science and culture. *Ebook available through all major etailers*

Book Description
This book relates a personal testimony of God's care and protection in the life of the author. Throughout the pages she illustrates events of how God intervened and transformed what could've been negative of even fatal results into positive ones, and how God has used her to minister to his hurting children. It reminds the reader that we are always in the presence of God. There's nothing private in our lives that God does not know. He is patient, kind merciful and forgiving. God is our Father, and He wants us to have a relationship with Him. One way to show God's love to us is to give that love away.

Book Description
"Isn't it funny? The thoughts your brain is capable of having even while you're lying there, bleeding on the carpet?..." The Soft of Her Palm is a devastating exploration of domestic violence, telling the story of Phil and Sarah’s troubled and complex relationship. It begins in the present day, moments after Sarah has crashed her car outside Phil's house - by accident or on purpose? As we return to the past and the horrifying story unfolds, our allegiances shift as the truth is slowly revealed. Jumping from moments of sheer joy to volcanic ferocity and underscored with a vein of sharp, brutal humour, the shadow of violence creeps insidiously across the landscape of Chris Dunkley’s painfully honest new play.

Book Description
In the 1980s there was growing interest in the topic of ageing and learning disabilities, for two principal reasons. First, the life expectancy of people with learning disabilities had risen significantly over the previous decades and many, once infancy had been survived, could expect a life span similar to that of non-disabled people. Secondly, a growing commitment on the part of the government and service providers to make provision for people with disabilities in the community rather than in institutions, had focused attention on this group. Originally published in 1988, reissued here with a new foreword, this book was one of the first on this subject. It examines epidemiology and mortality, and medical and psychiatric issues compared with non-disabled older people. It considers how people with learning disabilities change in intellectual and adaptive function with age, the nature of family relationships relevant therapeutic programmes, and policy and the development of services. The book represented a major review of a hitherto neglected topic and would interest gerontologists, psychologists and professional health, social and educational staff concerned with the welfare of older people with learning disabilities. This book is a re-issue originally published in 1988. The language used is a reflection of its era and no offence is meant by the Publishers to any reader by this re-publication.

Book Description
"[The] background and adventures make for fascinating autobiography. The writing style of the book is most engaging. And, happily, the material covered is interesting. It chronicles a life that is intriguing and a dedication to public service that is heartening." --Hugh Downs, distinguished broadcaster and Chairman of the U.S. Committee for UNICEF "I've enjoyed reading [this] memoir. Parts of it are hilarious, and parts of it are moving and impressive. . . . 'Still Counting' tells the story of an adventurous, committed, and consistently interesting life." --Justin Kaplan, Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer and editor of Bartlett's Familiar Quotations
