Professor Butler is responsible for the chapters in the introduction dealing with the life and works of Apuleius and the mss. Of the Apologz'a, for the text and apparatus criticus, and for those portions of the commentary which deal with textual questions and the subject-matter in' general. Mr. Owen is responsible for the introductory chapter on the style and language of Apuleius and for the notes dealing with those same questions.
