From 24,000 pictures of the Fermilab 15-foot hydrogen bubble chamber exposed to a broad band anti $nu$ beam, there were 89 anti $nu$p $Yields$ $mu$$sup +$ + X$sup 0$ events with a total momentum in the charged tracks greater than 5 GeV/c obtained. The techniques used to identify the muon are discussed, and the anti $nu$ energy is estimated. The charged particle multiplicity distributions and the mean $pi$$sup 0$ multiplicity are presented. The semi- inclusive X, Y, Z, Q$sup 2$ and W distributions are compared with model predictions. The rate of strange particle production is measured. No evidence was found for charm particle production. (auth).

A study of antineutrino interactions in the 15-ft bubble chamber filled with a neon-hydrogen mixture is proposed. This mixture provides good detection efficiency for a neutral component and lepton identification. We request a total flux of (almost equal to) 1019 interacting protons at the highest available energy for the proposed program. Our program includes the measurement of total cross sections of antineutrino interactions, inclusive and exclusive reactions, which can be described by either charged or neutral currents, pure lepton interactions and searches for new particles and new phenomena. As a first step, we ask for 200,000 photographs at the earliest possible date with a mixture of the order of 30 atomic percent neon in the bubble chamber.

Results on antineutrino-proton interactions observed in the Fermilab 15-foot hydrogen bubble chamber are presented. The charged-current semi-inclusive distributions, as a function of X, Y, Q2 and W, are compared with the predictions of the naive quark parton model. Within statistics, no marked dependence of the Y distribution on E/sub nu/ was observed. R/sub anti nu/, the antineutrino neutral-current to charged-current cross section ratio is calculated, and results are presented as a function of R/sub nu.
