The Columbia River Treaty, which provides for cooperative development of the water resources of the Columbia River basin, was signed in Washington, D.C. on January 17, 1961 by representatives of Canada and the U.S. This annual report, which covers October 1, 1989 to September 30, 1990, describes activities of the Board, progress being achieved by both countries under the terms of the Treaty, operation of the Treaty projects, and the resulting benefits. Summaries of the essential features of the Treaty and of the responsibilities of the Board and the Entities are included. The report provides discussion regarding the operations of the Treaty reservoirs, the status of projects, operations and benefits, and presents the conclusions of the Board.
