Book Description
According to her Sammy, nickname guinea pig Willi, lives Lea, nicknamed Anneliese Happy, inmidst of all her cuddly toys under the self-proclaimed king, HD. HD has forgotten what day it was his birthday. That's why he celebrates this day in, day out. If Lea forgets this time, HD speaks of a bottomless mess, even an insult to majesty. Then HD threatens to have her beheaded, but has no hangman to do it. And so it remains an empty threat, because otherwise HD's only people, Lea, would be headless and useless for HD. Lea is surrounded by a flock of sheep which always want to eat meadows and drive through tunnels. The sheep include "the beautiful Marilyn", a "cuddly sheep" named Gerlinde, "Her little thing" and last but not least a "black sheep" named "Kamikaze". Kamikaze is the only one allowed to sit next to Lea on the passenger seat. This is essential, because Lea has an excavator driver's license, but not a tractor driver's license. That's why she always drives straight ahead and avoids curves. Lea actually wants to become an animal keeper later because she loves animals more than anything. To do this, she must be able to read and write perfectly. But she only learns that in school. But school sucks. Only the long break is absolutely cool, where Lea meets her Sammy. Timmy and his buddies are always teasing the little girls, but Lea fights back. So it comes back to solid fights between them again and again. This usually ends up with the headmaster or with the school nurse for further treatment.

Book Description
Luelen Bernart, who died about the end of World War II, was a member of a prominent Ponapean family in the southeastern part of the island. As a youth he attended the Protestant mission school at Ohwa (Oa) and the style of the bible permeates his own writing. Locally he was renowned for the wealth of his traditional knowledge, which he recorded, apparently for his family... The book of Luelen appears to have been by far the fullest such manuscript completed by any Ponapean up to the time of Luelen's death: the author himself seems to have seen it as a comprehensive account of Ponape from its creation to the time of first European contact. Myths and legends side by side with history and botanical lore thus create a rich source of information on Ponape and how it was seen by Ponapeans..."--Book jacket.

A free open access ebook is available upon publication. Learn more at www.luminosoa.org. Of Love and Papers explores how immigration policies are fundamentally reshaping Latino families. Drawing on two waves of interviews with undocumented young adults, Enriquez investigates how immigration status creeps into the most personal aspects of everyday life, intersecting with gender to constrain family formation. The imprint of illegality remains, even upon obtaining DACA or permanent residency. Interweaving the perspectives of US citizen romantic partners and children, Enriquez illustrates the multigenerational punishment that limits the upward mobility of Latino families. Of Love and Papers sparks an intimate understanding of contemporary US immigration policies and their enduring consequences for immigrant families.

Book Description
This book was written in the belief that while music is a system of sounds, an assumption that provides the point of departure for most studies of music in culture, it is also a complex of behavior which resonates throughout the whole cultural organism--social organization, esthetic activity, economics, religion. This book is to be distinguished from other studies by its model of music as human action, making this work of interest not only to the ethnomusicologist and anthropologist, but also to those concerned with the nature of music, the nature of man, and the nature of music in human culture. Specifically, this model for the study of ethnomusicology is equally applicable to the study of visual arts, dance, folklore, and literature. --Adapted from dust jacket.
