Lfit were not due tothe honorable wounds of our patriots, it were the prudence of civil polity to einbalm the narrative of events which fixed the fluétuating defiiny of ages, and eilab lifhed the rights of mankind on an imperilha hl'e in difgrace mull: they be funk, who behold, unmoved, the monuments oftheir fame decay, and fuller the rank weeds of neg leél; to feed on the mouldering trophies oftheir valor.
