Excerpt from English Translation With Sanskrit Text of the Yogasara-Sangraha of Vijnāna Bhikshu All obeisance to Him who after having, - from his body of Illusion or Nescience (Mâyâ ) made up of Goodness, Foullness and Darkness (Sattwa, Rajas and Tamas) - created the Great Principle (Mahat), the (all - embracing) thread named Buddhi (spiritual consciousness) constituting (the forms of) Brahmâ, Vishnu and Siva, brings about in the character of the Supreme Being, this cosmos by means of the same body, like the spider, and then binds together His emanations in the cosmos (as the spider does insects by means of its thread).
