Book Description
Using the 5.8 × 106 J/? events collected by the MARK 3 experiment on the SPEAR ee− storage ring at SLAC, a mass independent amplitude analysis of the J/? →? K{sub s}K{sub s} and J/? → K+K− decays is presented. For K{bar K} systems having mass less than 2 GeV/c2, the efficiency-corrected spherical harmonic moments of the J/? joint decay angular distribution are measured. Fits are then performed in each independent mass interval in order to extract the underlying helicity amplitude structure; amplitudes describing K{bar K} systems of spin zero and spin two are included simultaneously. For the first time, a large spin zero component in the?(1720) mass region is observed; consistent results are obtained for the data samples corresponding to the individual decay modes. This structure is attributed to the production of an S wave resonance, the f0(1710), of mass and width M = 1710 {plus minus} 10 MeV/c2,? = 186 {plus minus} 30 MeV/c2, respectively, with branching fraction Bf(J/? →?f0, f0 → K{bar K}) = (6.47 {plus minus} 1.14 {plus minus} 0.84) × 10−4. A small amount ( -24%) of spin two component in this mass region cannot be ruled out with the present statistics. These results revise the previous conclusion that the?(1720) is a spin two resonance, a result obtained on the basis of spin hypothesis tests, which assumed that either pure spin zero or pure spin two states contribute in this mass region, but not both. The previous measurements of the f2??2032? (1525) have been refined in the present analysis because of the simultaneous inclusion of spin zero and spin two amplitudes in the fit.

Book Description
The results of amplitude analyses of the Mark III data on the K[sub s][sup 0]K[sub s][sup 0], K[sup+]K[sup -] and[pi][sup+][pi][sup -] systems produced in J/[psi] radiative decay are shown for the mass range 1--2 GeV. The intensity distributions for the amplitudes having J[sup PC] values 0[sup+2] and 2[sup+2] are presented and discussed. The observed strong production of the f[sub 0](1700) in J/[psi] radiative decay suggests that this state may consist primarily of the lightest scalar glueball state. No significant production of spin 2 is observed in the 1.7 GeV mass region.

Book Description
We present the results of an amplitude analysis of the spin parity components as a function of mass of the (K{bar K}°[pi]−) system as produced in the reaction {bar p}p 2!(K{bar K}°[pi]−) X. Two peaks are observed in the (K−{bar K}°[pi]−) spectrum, one at (1279 {plus minus} 2) MeV/c2 with a width of (21 {plus minus} 2) MeV/c2, and one at (1417 {plus minus} 3) MeV/c2 with a width of (62 {plus minus} 5) MeV/c2. The amplitude analysis was performed in sixteen 20 MeV/c2 mass intervals from 1.24 to 1.56 GeV/c2. The waves used for the fitting were J{sup PG} = 0{sup -+}, 1{sup ++}, 1{sup +-}, and background. 12 refs., 8 figs.

Book Description
Preliminary results are presented from the first large-statistics partial wave analysis of K−? system produced in the reaction K{sup -p {yields} K−??−?°p at 11 GeV/c observed with the LASS spectrometer at SLAC. The analysis is based on the moments of the joint angular distributions of the decay to the K−?} system, with subsequent? decay to?+?−?0. The resulting J{sup P} = 2−, 2+ and 3− amplitudes exhibit resonant behavior, and are discussed in the context of the relevant Briet-Wigner fits.
