Éstas incluyen el cuidado del embarazo y los primeros años de vida del niño. Los 1000 días iniciales de vida son muy importantes, como ha señalado la OMS, para la salud general, y también porque en ellos se desarrolla de forma importante el cerebro y muchos de sus aspectos cognitivos, incluido los cimientos del lenguaje.
