Book Description
My book is Holy Spirit inspired, prompting me on a journey from conflict to peace. Every psalm and poem reflects my inner most experiences through my turbulent life including many failures and triumphs. God has proven to me time and time again that His love, strength, and wisdom is present in every aspect of my life. He gave me hope when I had none. Jesus helped me start over and cast my burdens onto Him. The life I lead was long and hard and some of these psalms and poems tell my story of pain, loss, failure, and acceptance, giving me a much needed hard look at myself to make a drastic change in my life. I continue to face challenges on this journey being prompted by the Holy Spirit to excel and not lose faith, and He has opened my eyes and helped me to accept, forgive, repent, and share my experiences. I still have many weak moments, but Jesus shows me that in holding fast through faith He will never leave me. No matter how hard life gets or how long my journey is, until Im called home, Jesuss love will never fail me.

Book Description
Womanist Midrash, Volume 2, continues Wilda Gafney’s unique and imaginative work of in-depth explorations of the well- and lesser-known women of the Hebrew Scriptures. This volume focuses on women and girls in Joshua, Judges, Samuel, and Kings. As in her successful and widely read first volume, Gafney uses her own translations and offers midrashic interpretations of the biblical text rooted in the African American preaching and rabbinic traditions to tell the stories of a variety of female characters, many of whom are often overlooked and nameless. Grounded in rigorous scholarship, this volume employs solid womanist and feminist approaches to biblical interpretation and the sociohistorical culture of the ancient Afro-Asiatic world, expanding conversations of and about biblical interpretation.

Book Description
In the spirit of Ludolph of Saxony (c. 1295–1378) and Ignatius of Loyola (1491–1556), The Fourfold Gospel invites the reader into the mystery of God’s redemption in Jesus Christ. All the parallel passages in the Gospels are glossed together, along with the unique material, using a medieval interpretive approach called the Quadriga or the acronym PaRDeS in Hebrew. Meditating on the literal, canonical, moral, and theological senses of Scripture offers a scaffolding for the spiritual formation of the reader. This volume focuses on the illuminative stage of discipleship, the goal of the parables, along with Jesus’s conflict with enemies and our mission.

Book Description
Dangerous Woman? Ordained by God? Gender matters! What do pastors really do beyond the pulpit? What's it like to be a woman pastor? It's complicated. People leave congregations when the pastor wears a skirt. Other congregations become advocates for women clergy. Rev. Dorothy Nickel Friesen, an ordained Mennonite pastor, digs deep into the soul of a pastor with humor, pathos, and passion. Her memoir, a collection of short stories based on true events, visits the agony of bedside death, lost dreams, and angry parishioners who walk away from her leadership. She also shares the laugh-out-loud stories of weddings (a missing groom), rituals of deep meaning (with water from the Jordan River), and tension-filled advocacy for peace (on a military base). With honesty and warmth, Rev. Dorothy beckons women, especially, to love God's people as a leader, preacher, and friend. She hopes this book will help you see beyond the "Bible wars" and deepen your faith that God generously gifts women for spiritual leadership.

Book Description
A delightfully-written exploration of faith for those who are searching and for those who are settled What if we stopped trying to find the perfect church in the right Christian tradition and intentionally explored our faith with all our Christian brothers and sisters? Can Christians embrace God fully by exploring other faith traditions? In Not All Who Wander, we discover that we do indeed find Jesus in a church, and traces of him in our everyday lives as well. Not All Who Wander walks readers through the author’s faith journey, and how her experience with churches in a number of traditions has left her longing for more of Jesus than any one church offers. It also presents stories from other believers to give readers a sense of how alike, and different, our spiritual experiences can be. Rhoades has developed a passion for discovering all the ways we worship Jesus and invites readers to join her. With utter delight, she’s discovered no matter which traditions she worships with, Jesus meets her there.
