Book Description
Mrs. John Wood (Matilda Charlotte Vining) 1831-1915, was a British-born actress who found fame in the U.S.A., where she performed primarily in Boston, New York, and California, before returning to England in 1866, performing and managing theatres on both sides of the Atlantic. The album accompanied the gift of a diamond bracelet and ring on the occasion of her Benefit at the Boston Theatre, containing autograph signatures and press cuttings mainly relating to this event. Also included are a few cuttings dating from her later British stage success.
