Book Description
What do bouncing, biting, unemployable sheep dogs, sniping spiders, irritated ants, and getting-under-everyone’s-skin, Cousin Fred (addicted to catnip and trouble), plus Billy-Bom-Tom-Cat all have in common? They’re the ones Patty-Cat and Kittle, two adventurous little kittens, meet and deal with, and sometimes it’s not easy! Patty-Cat and Kittle came to live with Angel at 112 Liver Lane, and life is far from dull. Two sheep dogs, Hal and Sam, come snarling down the street, snapping at each other and when Kittle tries to stop them, they turn on her. She suggests they could be nicer to each other, but alas, peacemakers are never appreciated. Off they go, snarling and biting, hoping to fight Hector the goat. Cousin Fred comes for a visit and disrupts the whole household. Nothing he does turns out right. He spills gingerbread batter all over the kitchen, breaks things, disappears and refuses to do chores. Fred meets a disreputable ruffian called Billy-Bom-Tom-Cat who leads him to a catnip café. Before he is totally beat up, Kittle comes to the rescue and escorts him home. But Fred finds music, banging on the piano, and finally is sent to music school.

Category : Juvenile Fiction

Book Description
Who hasn't dreamed of a fabulous magic flying carpet taking us on journeys in which our every wish comes true? Kittle certainly thought she had found her own magic carpet when Professor Digger talked about Ancient Egypt and said he would take her there. He claimed he had found a portal and through a series of dials and levers, it would transport anyone to anywhere. Kittle insisted Patty-Cat come with her, but Patty-Cat refused. She had entered a baking contest and wouldn't even discuss using a portal which might not even exist. When Kittle says she is going alone, Patty-Cat tells her mother, Angel, who calls her good friend, Mr. Tom-Cat. He agrees to investigate Professor Digger. At the bake-off, Little Minikin, who is psychic, the adopted kitten of the neighbors next door, whispers to Kittle that if she goes with the professor she won't come home again. Meanwhile, many residents of Katville have been invited to a fabulous dinner and scavenger hunt by Mr. Tom-Cat for his adopted son, Billy-Bom-Tom, who had the night off from the rehearsal of the musical, Hanoj. Who wins the bake-off? What about the hair-raising conclusion to the projected trip to Ancient Egypt--is it safe or not? Can Angel stop the proposed trip? The answers to all these pressing questions are found inside this book so you can read all about the exciting events in Katville for yourself.

ADV OF PATTY-CAT KITTLE & THE
Author: Barbara a. Cefalu
Publisher: Outskirts Press
ISBN: 9781478779674
Category : Juvenile Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 76
Book Description
Excitement is running high at 112 Liver Lane, where Angel, and her two kittens, Patty-Cat and Kittle, are preparing for the holiday season. Cousin Fred and his mother, Sunny, are expected to visit, there's baking to be done, gifts to wrap, a tree to decorate. Of course, first they need to get a tree. A Christmas parade is planned for the residents of Katville. The mayor and dignitaries will attend and friends will be in the parade. Just to prove that few things go smoothly a grinding noise shatters nerves; plaster and dirt fill the air, and ... horror, of horrors, that impish elf, Grimsby appears, creating turmoil and scattering debris everywhere. Fortunately this time he brings a tree and of course it has to be decorated. The annoying resident spider, Miss Wilma Weaver, likes to stir up things, and the two sheep dogs, Hal and Sam, romp through the season, as joyfully and stupid and rambunctious as ever. Two new kittens come to town, one unhappy feisty one and another who was cruelly abandoned. Miss Maisey and Miss Katty-Kat, sisters who live next door at 114 Liver Lane, receive an unexpected but cherished Christmas gift and the animals all gather for the solemn Midnight event. If you are curious as to how the two sisters become kind and happy, (quite an about-face), or if you want to find out how everything ends, or if you just want a good read, try this book.

School Education
Author: Charlotte M. Mason
Publisher: Routledge
ISBN: 1000697568
Category : Education
Languages : en
Pages : 175
Book Description
Originally published in 1905, this book argues that the educational outlook was rather misty and depressing both at home and abroad. That science should be a staple of education, that the teaching of Latin, of modern languages, of mathematics, must be reformed, that nature and handicrafts should be pressed into service for the training of the eye and hand, that boys and girls must learn to write English and therefore must know something of history and literature; and, on the other hand, that education must be made more technical and utilitarian - these, and such as these, are the cries of expedience with which we take the field. But we have no unifying principle, no definte aim; in fact, no philosophy of education.

The Adventures of Patty-Cat and Kittle
Author: Barbara a Cefalu
Publisher:
ISBN: 9781977208231
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 110
Book Description
It rained pups and kittens in the Valley and that is how Angel, a beautiful long-haired cat, came to have two tiny kittens living with her at 112 Liver Lane. Naturally they are delightful kittens. However, some of the jealous neighbors are catty enough to make snide remarks such as "Handsome is as handsome does" or "Can't judge a book by its' cover.". Hanging around the house is the feisty, critical Black widow spider, Miss Wilma Weaver, the grumpy resident of the upper right hand corner of the living room. Miss Weaver manages to have a new husband a day, who then disappears and the next husband arrives. Hmmmm. Fat Cat Chester, the big shy cat from next door is a good friend of the kittens as is Chester's friend, Susie. The four kittens have many adventures together including one with an out-of-planet space visitor. Two unemployed sheep dogs, Hal and Sam, fired for incompetence, romp through the village bringing chaos and anger as they bite and nip at others and even at each other. Kittle meets several Mr. Ants who don't take direction well as she tries to be the peacemaker among them. Mrs. Mockingbird's baby falls out of the nest and Kittle offers to rescue him. After overcoming skeptical Mrs. Mockingbird, she successfully rescues the small bird; with many thanks from both. But the worst disaster occurs when their terrible Cousin Fred comes to visit. He is so incorrigible, he has been sent on a visit to Angel and the kittens by his mother as she can do nothing with him. Cousin Fred is addicted to catnip, among other things, and it takes the combined efforts of both kittens and their mother, before Fred settles down. It is discovered that Fred has a talent for music through his enthusiastic banging on the piano so he is sent to music school where he becomes a reformed kitten and a very talented pianist. What is a story without a villain, and Mr. Billy-Bom-Tom-Cat, a really bad cat in the making, certainly fills the bill He skulks around waiting to lure any kitten he finds into temptation, vice, and trouble. Alas, his friends are pretty bad too. A joyful Thanksgiving brings all the characters to a grand Thanksgiving party where Cousin Fred plays the piano brilliantly, the sheep dogs spill the punch and slurp it up from the floor, the ants get toting-home privileges, and all the guests are treated to a fine concert by Fred. What a party!
