Carbon Dioxide in Non-aqueous Solvents at Pressures Less Than 200 KPA
Author: P.G.T. Fogg
Publisher: Elsevier
ISBN: 1483287432
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 502
Book Description
Solubility Data Series, Volume 50: Carbon Dioxide in Non-Aqueous Solvents at Pressures Less Than 200 kPa contains evaluated data for the solubility in non-aqueous solvents of carbon dioxide at a partial pressure not greater than 200 kPa. The Solubility Data Series is a project of Commission V.8 (Solubility Data) of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). The text has as its goal the preparation of a comprehensive and critical compilation of data on solubilities in all physical systems, including gases, liquids and solids. Chapters are devoted to providing data on the solubility of carbon dioxide in compounds such as alkanes, cyclic alkanes and alkenes, alcohols, solvents, other than alcohols, containing carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, and animal and vegetable oils and fats. Chemists will find the text extremely useful.

Absorption of Carbon Dioxide and Hydrogen Sulfide by Sterically Hindered Amine Amp
Author: Zin Eddine Dadach
Publisher: GRIN Verlag
ISBN: 3668081883
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 142
Book Description
Master's Thesis from the year 1984 in the subject Chemistry - Other, , language: English, abstract: In a pioneering research study, experimental data for the absorption rates of CO2, H2S and a mixture of both in hindered amine, 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP) aqueous solutions (0.03M, 0.1M, 0.2M and 0.3M) are presented for the first time. Results are compared with the absorption rate in monoethanolamine (MEA) solutions of similar concentrations. The obtained results describe the conditions under which AMP can be a better solvent than MEA and mention the opposing factors of the absorption of CO2 by the steric hindrance effect of AMP and the concentration of the unstable carbamate.
