After much inner turmoil, he is 83 years old!, he finds her, is transformed into the man she has been seeing, a man she has known for a long, long time. He takes her back to his strange new world and there begins the process of rediscovering who they really are and who the Wolves are. There they encounter a Horror they have been chasing through time. Through time they remember who they are. They have come to Earth centuries before, have been at Troy and with Charlemagne at Roncesvalles, and many other battles, have become human, living and dying, losing each other many times. Gradually and reluctantly with the Wolves help, they discover who they are and the reason for their lives, which is to eradicate the Universe of the Black Horror they have been pursuing. The only way to fight them is in hand to hand combat, he is a Swordsman and she is an Archer, and the Wolves have been bred to fight alongside them. The Horror's reason for existence is to cleanse whole planets so their masters can move there. The Monsters have been brought to Earth and the last battle will be there. The final battle begins at Roncesvalles, in Northern Spain, where he fought in 787, continues in Space and finally on the Tundra of Northern Canada.
