Cette thèse a pour but de déterminer, dans un premier temps à qui s'adressent les adolescents lorsqu'ils ont besoin d'aide ou d'information, et s'ils adaptent leurs interlocuteurs à la gravité de leurs besoins, et dans un deuxième temps la place du médecin généraliste parmi ces ressources. 199 adolescents dans les collèges de Val de Reuil, ville nouvelle localisée dans l'EURE, ont été interrogés par questionnaire anonyme. Ils ont pour la plupart entre 15 et 16 ans, il y a autant de filles que de garçons, leur niveau socio-économique est plutôt modeste et ils rapportent plus de comportements à risque que dans les autres études françaises. Cette étude montre que les interlocuteurs préférentiels de ces adolescents sont toujours les amis et les parents. L'accès aux autres ressources dépend de la gravité du besoin : lorsqu'ils se sont posé des questions, internet et les médias sont les troisièmes ressources les plus citées, quand ils ont peur pour leur santé, c'est le médecin qui est le troisième interlocuteur le plus cité. Les adolescents paraissent bien adapter le choix de leur ressource à la gravité du besoin, mais il semble que plus les adolescents sont en difficulté moins ils font appel à une ressource quelle qu'elle soit. Dans une deuxième partie, cette étude montre que la grande majorité des adolescents ont un médecin de famille, qu'ils l'ont généralement consulté dans l'année mais qu'ils le sollicitent rarement même s'ils semblent savoir que le médecin généraliste peut les aider, il n'y a que quand la santé est directement impliquée que le médecin est considéré comme un interlocuteur par les adolescents. Les médecins, d'après les adolescents, semblent faire peu de prévention au cabinet médical. Les adolescents décrivent un certain nombre d'obstacles à la consultation mais ne savent pas ce que leur médecin pourrait changer pour faciliter la communication. L'initiative doit donc venir des praticiens, ils doivent changer pour rendre la consultation plus facile et plus contributive. Un certain nombre de ressources, telle que l'institution scolaire, si elles ne sont pas considérées comme des ressources préférentielles par les adolescents, jouent un rôle important dans la diffusion des informations médicales et dans le repérage des adolescents en difficulté, ces ressources doivent apprendre à travailler ensemble pour une meilleure prise en charge des adolescents.

The future engagement of young citizens from a wide range of socio-economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds in democratic politics remains a crucial concern for academics, policy-makers, civics teachers and youth workers around the world. At a time when the negative relationship between socio-economic inequality and levels of political participation is compounded by high youth unemployment or precarious employment in many countries, it is not surprising that new social media communications may be seen as a means to re-engage young citizens. Mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) is a term used to describe a wide range of actions that address social, psychological and psychiatric problems that are either pre-existing or emergency-induced.
