Book Description
It is rare to find contemporary American poetry that speaks to readers with engaging directness, free of pretense or posturing. That is exactly the kind of poetry that Blas Falconer writes. In his first collection, Falconer presents 46 poems that are emotionally forthright and linguistically evocative but written without affectation or subterfuge. Although Falconer is formally trained and is aware of the structures and potential of both free verse and traditional poetic forms, he crafts exquisite, heartfelt poems that surprise us with their simple intensity. Whether writing about the mysteries of childhood or the pleasures of cruising for gay sex in a metropolitan airport, he surprises us with the delicacy of his touch, never obvious or heavy-handed. As a gay man who embraces his Puerto Rican heritage, Falconer stands at an edge of American society, and there is the tension of borders in his work: borders between peoples and nations as well as the less visible, more porous and deceptive borders between family members and lovers. There is not one point of view in these poems but many. It is the quality of their observational power that binds them together. Whether the setting is the hospital room of his dying grandfather or his own backyard teeming with garrulous tree frogs, Falconer transports us to the scene. It is easy for us to imagine what he sees. And we care, deeply, just as he does.

Book Description
SUMMARY In the offered work, unlike the majority of formal theories, the author considers a problem of gravitation with causally consecutive point of view. By logic of researches of known facts and existing theories of this direction, he comes to conclusion about unknown fundamental property of a matter causing the gravitational phenomena. The authors explanation is not difficult to mastering both with causal and quantitative points of view. However, it demands deep changes in accepted beliefs and approaches. On the basis of the offered causal essence of gravitation, the author deduces the law of universal gravitation of Newton; he defines the theoretical value of a gravitational constant and calculates known gravitational effects, with the use of simple mathematical reasoning only. The subsequent results of the offered concept are corresponding with the checked up results of Einsteins general theory of relativity (GTR). However, for planned new experiments, on detection of gravitational waves and gravymagnetic effect, negative results are predicted. The mentioned circumstance may allow judging about value of the offered explanation in a not-far future. Despite of complexities of the studied problem, the book is narrated in a free, polemical style, stipulated for a wide range of readers. * The picture used on the cover is the Galaxy Andromeda M 31, from site www.ASTROLAB.ru . Book Description
This book is unique and exceptional in dealing with the notion of physical time rigorously, both logically and empirically. The central theme is the intimate relation between physical time and cosmic gravity. It establishes and explains, in an accessible manner, the one crucial physical fact that has been missed in the development of modern physics—that the enormous gravity of the matter and energy in the Universe is the controller and cause of the relativistic time. The material in the book is accurate and free of the ambiguities in the discussion of time and its modifications (dilation), synchronization of clocks, and simultaneity. The contents go beyond the current theories of relativity that fail to incorporate the cosmic gravity in their structure. The discussion of clocks in satellite navigational systems (like the GPS) is the most complete and accurate. The book offers several new insights, and it is the only available treatise on the complete physical truth about time. The contents are addressed to a wide range of readers, from general readers and students to experienced researchers, and will also appeal well to philosophers and historians of physics. This book has the enabling quality to deal with difficult questions about physical time, with unprecedented clarity and without paradoxes.

Book Description
This book provides a compilation of in-depth articles and reviews on key topics within gravitation, cosmology and related issues. It is a celebratory volume dedicated to Prof. Thanu Padmanabhan ("Paddy"), the renowned relativist and cosmologist from IUCAA, India, on the occasion of his 60th birthday. The authors, many of them leaders of their fields, are all colleagues, collaborators and former students of Paddy, who have worked with him over a research career spanning more than four decades. Paddy is a scientist of diverse interests, who attaches great importance to teaching. With this in mind, the aim of this compilation is to provide an accessible pedagogic introduction to, and overview of, various important topics in cosmology, gravitation and astrophysics. As such it will be an invaluable resource for scientists, graduate students and also advanced undergraduates seeking to broaden their horizons.

Book Description
Some discoveries have shaken the world and left their mark in an important way. Newton’s Theory of Gravity, Darwin’s Theory of Evolution and Einstein’s Theories of Relativity come immediately to mind. One thing they have in common is a bold and brave new idea. When these new theories are eventually accepted they become pillars of science and more importantly foundations of society. Then, occasionally a new idea comes along that rattles one of these pillars. My new idea should do just that, shake but not topple our theory of gravity. Hopefully it will bring gravity to the masses not just add more mass to gravity theory. It solves Newton’s mystery and Einstein’s enigma, supports most current gravity theory, but adds a new dimension to physics and will become a major part of the new gravity pillar of physics.
