Since then, phylogenetic studies on rove beetles have yielded a different perspective on that family, now with well over 50,000 species. Almost 400 species of them are now believed to be restricted to sea coasts. This volume provides a general overview of the main features of Lithuanian territory, the origins and formation of the beetle fauna and their conservation measures, the faunistic investigations in Lithuania to date revealing the most important stages of the research process.
