Book Description
Blessings do not always come with fanfare, huge amounts of money, or great acclaim. In fact, perhaps the greatest blessings in life are the little ones we experience every moment of every day. Stop and be in the moment - realize what is happening. This moment will not ever come again, no, never, and if we count each and every moment precious, we will see how we are blessed. For in these moments, there is something there that God wants us to experience, to feel, to think of, and perhaps for Him to offer an affirmation so that we can be a blessing to others as well. If we miss those, our life becomes unfinished dreams of what could have been.

Book Description
Previously published as A Memory and a Blessing by J. Owen Robison, Jr.J. Owen Robison, Jr. has performed technical writing for over 40 years in manufacturing and healthcare. At one point in his life he lost sight of what God had intended for him to do. In 2017 he was diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP), a disorder of the nerves that caused him to lose the ability of walking and using his hands. Though this disorder can be much more debilitating, the months that he spent in recovery and therapy gave Owen the opportunity to focus on the blessings in his life, rather than his condition. During that journey, he found a new relationship with Jesus Christ and learned what true blessings really are.

Book Description
This book tackles the core problem of how painful historical memories between diverse religious communities continue to impact—even poison—present-day relations. Its operative notion is the healing of memory, developed by John Paul II. Chapters explore how painful memories of yesteryear can be healed and so address some of the root causes. Strategies from six different faith traditions are brought together in what is, in some ways, a cross-religious brainstorming session that identifies tools to improve present-day relations. At the other pole of the conceptual axis of this book is the notion of hope. If memory informs our past, hope sets the horizon for our future. How does the healing of memory open new horizons for the future? And what is the notion of hope in each of our traditions that could lead to a common vision of good? Between memory and hope, this book seeks to offer a vision of healing that can serve as a resource in contemporary interfaith relations. Book Description
When Jan Richardson unexpectedly lost her husband and creative partner, the singer/songwriter Garrison Doles, she did what she had long known how to do: she wrote blessings. These were no sugar-coated blessings. They minimized none of the pain and bewilderment that came in the wake of a wrenching death. With these blessings, Jan entered, instead, into the depths of the shock, anger, and sorrow. From those depths, she has brought forth words that, with heartbreaking honesty, offer surprising comfort and stunning grace. Those who know loss will find kinship among these pages. In these blessings that move through the anguish of rending into the unexpected shelters of solace and hope, there shimmers a light that helps us see we do not walk alone. From her own path of grief, Jan offers a luminous, unforgettable gift that invites us to know the tenacity of hope and to recognize the presence of love that, as she writes, is "sorrow's most lasting cure."

Book Description
Ann Jaffe was born in 1931 in a small town in Eastern Poland, about 75 miles northeast of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Following the partition of Polish land between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union in 1939, their part of Poland was ceded to Russia. Ann was 10 years old when Germany attacked the Soviet Union in June of 1941. Within 10 days of the beginning of the war, the Nazi army marched through her town, moving eastward. Shortly thereafter, the rounding up and killing of Jews began. During the 15 months of Nazi occupation, she witnessed the brutal segregation and killing of most Jews in her town. Ann's family escaped execution only because of her parents' useful skillsets, and their extraordinary luck. Transferred to a neighboring Ghetto, sometime later the family miraculously escaped into the neighboring forest, with the help of Russian partisan fighters. Surviving in the forest was brutal, but Ann did so along with her family, which included her 16-month-old baby brother. They hid in the forests of Belarus for 20 months without the benefit of warm clothing or decent shelter; the first winter they all huddled under an open sky and sustained themselves with a scarce supply of potatoes. Constant fear of recapture added to the family's misery. They survived three separate assaults by the German military without being discovered. There were very few lucky survivors. Despite the catastrophic events endured by Ann's family, her story of survival also details the existence of love and resilience within the human spirit. She tells her story not from a place of unresolved hatred, but from a place of tolerance, demonstrating the transformative impact of kindness.
