Abstract: Application of the Field Guide is intended to provide further assessment of methodology; provide program evaluation where methodology was applied, serve as a training medium for representatives of key agencies in developing nations; provide additional real-world models for documentation. Demonstrations of field guide use was to be conducted by nationals with consultant technical assistance. The applications project in the Philippines showed persons with no training or experience in evaluation could effectively apply the methodology and make practical use of results. In developing countries, initial orientation and technical resources are necessary. Report documentation provides a model for methodology use or customizing for particular program needs. Cross-cultural tests, cost-effectiveness comparisons, and alternatives to approach were not used in the study. A project should be undertaken to illustrate adaption of methodology to areas other than dietary behavior.
