Book Description
In my poem 'Life's Vagaries' I describe observations of a tattooed female, shuffling along in the market place with her boyfriend and the sign on a nearby church inviting people to 'light candles'. My emotional response is to juxtapose the meaning of love with religion. This book of poems expresses a wide range of experiences as I create responses to major themes in life such as birth, love and death. Covering over seventy years, the poems show how an early religious upbringing can leave its almost 'Freudian' imprint. This can be seen in 'Lessons of War' one of my early memories. My interest in philosophy is demonstrated in the poem 'Stages of Life in a Dressing Gown' where I reach a mid-life crisis and almost press the self destruct button...but thankfully recover to continue the journey. Hope you will join the journey with me and see life from a different perspective.

She just doesn't know it yet...But Midnight Mayhem was the stained glass that concealed a very dark culture.A culture that she is about to become the center of.The Brothers of Kiznitch come in fours, and they're not happy about me being hustled into their acts.Or are we? Careful, Little Bird. A warning is a warning for a reason...Mind-tricks.Stunts.Deceit.Power.But there's something uglier that has been haunting me for years upon years. So ugly that I have never seen its face. I never had to. I'd hear his whispers through my internal screams, feel his shadow brush against my nightmares. He was my the monster that tormented me.And maybe lived under your bed...When I started Midnight Mayhem, his presence faded. His whispers were silenced. His shadow dissolving without a trace.I wondered why that was.She didn't have to wonder for long...

Book Description
Gabriel Spencer is a Detroit beat cop determined to make detective by any means possible, and putting an end to a mysterious string of murders looks like the quickest way to accomplish that goal. Prostitutes and escorts, drained of blood, bodies abandoned in ditches, playgrounds, and Dumpsters... It all reeks of a similar spate of killings from decades past, and no one but Gabriel seems to see the connection. Modern crimes, however, can sometimes have ancient origins, and unfortunately for Gabriel, he fails to account for the real culprit- or the thought that perhaps he isn't the only one on the hunt for a killer. A vampiric crime thriller tinged with romance, horror, and intense world-building, Letifer serves as a standalone novel in The Dark Vagaries series.

Book Description
Pulitzer Prize-winner Mark Strand gives us a poem in forty-five sections that—despite its wide range and shifting mood and tone—is all of a piece. Here Strand speaks candidly to the reader, conversing, offering urban wit and surrealist digressions that draw on our innermost sensations and the outermost reaches of our reality: Is what exists a souvenir of the time Of the great nought and deep night without stars The time before the universe began? When we look at each other and see nothing Is that not a confirmation that we are less Than meets the eye and embody some of The night of our origins? A timeless pursuit of timeless questions, Dark Harbor centers on uncertainty and the known, family and isolation, the possible and the real. The poems in this book are easily recognizable as the world of one of our most interesting and influential poets.
