Book Description
Cao Cao (About this pronunciation [tsʰǎu tsʰáu]; Chinese: 曹操; c. 155 – 15 March 220),courtesy name Mengde, was a Chinese warlord and the penultimate Chancellor of the Eastern Han dynasty who rose to great power in the final years of the dynasty. As one of the central figures of the Three Kingdoms period, he laid the foundations for what was to become the state of Cao Wei and ultimately the Jin dynasty, and was posthumously honoured as "Emperor Wu of Wei". He is often portrayed as a cruel and merciless tyrant in subsequent literature; however, he has also been praised as a brilliant ruler and military genius who treated his subordinates like his family. During the fall of the Eastern Han dynasty, Cao Cao was able to secure the most populated and prosperous cities of the central plains and northern China. Cao Cao had much success as the Han chancellor, but his handling of the Han Emperor Xian was heavily criticised and resulted in a continued and then escalated civil war. Opposition directly gathered around warlords Liu Bei and Sun Quan, whom Cao Cao was unable to quell. Cao Cao was also skilled in poetry, calligraphy and martial arts and wrote many war journals.

Book Description
Eighteen years ago, a first god body appeared in the Xu family. It had ten divine veins, but the news of it had been leaked out, and ten divine veins had been destroyed. From then on, even though he had the qualifications of a god body, he could no longer cultivate. He had never been known to shake the mountains and rivers; he had never been able to cover the sky with his hands, but he had guided the world; he had never possessed endless abilities, but he had been respected by the world as a teacher; he was destined to not live past twenty, even though he was young and extraordinary.

Book Description
Both municipal engineering and environmental engineering are disciplines aimed at promoting human welfare. The former focuses on establishing life-supporting public infrastructure, while the latter emphasizes treatment and restoration of polluted environment. Typically, the engineers deal with various contaminants (e.g., nutrients, heavy metals and organic contaminants) existing in different environmental media (e.g., soils, water sources, sewage and solid wastes). So far, plenty of technologies and engineering systems have been developed in which microorganisms play important parts. In some cases, microorganisms play a leading role, as their metabolism influences the degradation and transformation of the contaminants. In other cases, as a part of the target environments, microbial communities are forced to change, which reflects the performance of the applied technologies/systems or their impacts on the health of ecosystems and living organisms.

Book Description
A deep-dive into the evolutionary biology, biogeography, and conservation of the most elusive subterranean creatures in the world. Far from the austere, sparsely populated ecosystems often conjured in the imagination, caves host some of the most mysterious and biodiverse natural systems in the world. Subterranean environments, however, are the least explored terrestrial habitats, contributing to misconceptions about their inhabitants. Edited by cave scientist and conservation ecologist Dr. J. Judson Wynne, Cave Biodiversity explores both the evolution and the conservation of subterrestrial-dwelling fauna. Covering both vertebrates and invertebrates, including mollusks, fishes, amphibians, arthropods, and other troglobionts, this volume brings together ichthyologists, entomologists, ecologists, herpetologists, and conservationists to provide a nuanced picture of life beneath the earth's surface. Broad chapters covering biotic and abiotic factors that influence evolution and support biodiversity precede chapters dedicated to specific taxa, highlighting phylogenetics and morphology, and delving into zoogeography, habitat, ecology, and dispersal mechanisms for each. Considerations for conservation of these fascinating, often bizarre, and often highly sensitive subterranean creatures are emphasized throughout. Cave Biodiversity aims to synthesize the principles of subterranean evolutionary biology and diversity through in-depth case studies of some of the most captivating and imperiled taxonomic groups in the world. Employing a multidisciplinary approach involving systematics, genetics, ecology, biogeography, evolutionary biology, and conservation science, Cave Biodiversity will be of keen interest to evolutionary biologists, ecologists, conservation biologists, and cave scientists, as well as advanced undergraduate and graduate students.
