Presents a study of derived wind and wave climatologies for Lancaster Sound and northwestern Baffin Bay. Geostrophic wind data were synthesized from a set of gridded mean sea level pressure maps. Wave hindcasts were based on the Bretschneider equations using geographical features and average minimum monthly ice conditions to limit the fetch. Accuracy of these techniques is examined. Statistics of wind and wave data are presented as frequency distributions, extremes and durations.
