Book Description
When Why Families Move first appeared in 1956, it represented one of the first major attempts to examine residential mobility and its implications for social policy. In presenting the second edition, Rossi provides analysis of the data and findings of the intervening 23 years, as well as an extensive bibliographic update. This book reaffirms the basic validity of the original study and new scholars will welcome the opportunity to become acquainted with this classic study.

Book Description
The object of this book is intra-urban mobility, namely the diverse forms of mobility occuring within a city: from residential mobility to daily mobility, the latter understood both as commuting and as urban travel for leisure. The specific aim of the volume is to explore mobility in the city at different times, from the XVIIth century to today, and to relate it to the respective social dynamics from different standpoints, moving back and forth from the building to the neighbourhood and the wider metropolis, from Tunis to Paris, from Naples to Barcelone, passing through Rome, Milan and Marseille. The approach adopted is strongly multidisciplinary. The authors come from different disciplines - from History to Demography, from Sociology to Geography -, which has allowed to decline the study of intra-urban mobility both through a look at individuals and their mobility practices and from a territorial and historical context. In so doing, a set of urban issues has been considered, such as social mobility, metropolization processes, migrations and inequalities, access to real estate market.

Book Description
What are the current trends in housing? Is my planned project commercially viable? What should be my marketing and advertisement strategies? These are just some of the questions real estate agents, landlords and developers ask researchers to answer. But to find the answers, researchers are faced with a wide variety of methods that measure housing preferences and choices. To select and value a valid research method, one needs a well-structured overview of the methods that are used in housing preference and housing choice research. This comprehensive introduction to this field offers just such an overview. It discusses and compares numerous methods, detailing the potential limitation of each one, and it reaches beyond methodology, illustrating how thoughtful consideration of methods and techniques in research can help researchers and other professionals to deliver products and services that are more in line with residents’ needs.

Book Description
Originally published in 1969, Behavioral Problems in Geography unpacks and identifies elements of behavioral models and theories. The book seeks to examine their specific effects on spatial activity and to operationalize some of the concepts previously used in a subjective and descriptive manner. All papers, are united by a common concern for the building of geographic theory regarding human behavior. Contributions in the volume vary a great deal in their emphasis ranging from philosophy and review, to theorizing and operationalization. Each paper recognizes the importance of examining the behavioural basis of spatial activity. This book will appeal to scholars of geography and psychology alike.
