Book Description
This book is about those preachers whom John Wesley called his Sons in the Gospel, their lives, their importance in the Methodist movement and their wider significance. It is about those who entered in Wesley's lifetime; they had begun their work by 1791. Because of their unity and dedication they had more effect than either of the Wesley brothers in the creation of the worldwide Methodist Church. This study analyses their lives and achievements. It provides new statistical information and brings to life the calling, travels, and everyday experience of individual preachers.

Susan, on the other hand, can't wait to question employees and maybe discover a motive for the murder. Spurred on by her visions, she ignores warning signs and soon finds herself in the clutches of a killer. When the local authorities attempt to execute an arrest warrant, the investigation turns upside down, and suspects become victims.

Book Description
The face of John Wesley (1703–91), the Methodist leader, became one of the most familiar images in the English-speaking and transatlantic worlds through the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. After the dozen or so painted portraits made during his lifetime came numbers of posthumous portraits and moralising ‘scene paintings’, and hundreds of variations of prints. It was calculated that six million copies were produced of one print alone – an 1827 portrait by John Jackson R.A. as frontispiece for a hymn book. Illustrated by nearly one hundred images, many in colour, with a comprehensive appendix listing known Wesley images, this book offers a much-needed comprehensive and critical survey of one of the most influential religious and public figures of eighteenth-century Britain. Besides chapters on portraits from the life and after, scene paintings and prints, it explores aspects of Wesley’s (and Methodism’s) attitudes to art, and the personality cult which gathered around Wesley as Methodism expanded globally. It will be of interest to art historians as a treatment of an individual sitter and subject, as well as to scholars engaged in Wesley and Methodist studies. It is also significant for the field of material studies, given the spread and use of the image, on artefacts as well as on paper.

London, 1925 Sebastian de Leon is adjusting to life after three years spent enthralled by blood magic. The atrocities he committed under its control still weigh heavily on his conscience, but when he’s asked to investigate a series of mysterious murders, it feels like an opportunity to make amends. Until he realizes the killer’s next likely target is a man who witnessed Sebastian at his worst—the Viscount Fine. Lord Fine—known as Wesley to his friends, if he had any—is haunted by ghosts of his own after serving as a British army captain during the Great War. Jaded and untrusting, he’s tempted to turn Sebastian in, but there’s something undeniably captivating about the reformed paranormal, and after Sebastian risks his own life to save Wesley’s, they find common ground. Seeking sanctuary together at Wesley’s country estate in Yorkshire, the unlikely pair begins to unravel a mystery steeped in legend and folklore, the close quarters emboldening them to see past the other’s trauma to the person worth loving beneath. Book Description
Unique among the various types of impersonation entertainers, a tribute artist concentrates on only a few of a famous singer's notable characteristics in order to effectively evoke that performer through song. This book explores the elements of tribute performance through case studies of performers who pay homage to legendary singers like Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis. Drawing on original interviews with tribute artists, biographical profiles chronicle performers' early careers, musical influences and their lives on the road. A few performers even reflect on their friendships with musical titans like Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis and The Crickets. Forty tribute artists are profiled, including winners of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, Million Dollar Quartet alumni and several European performers.
