What we know so far: UFOs
Author: Frank Dappah
Publisher: OSTRICH PUBLISHERS
ISBN:
Category : Juvenile Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 27
Book Description
According to the Tulli Papyrus, during the reign of Thutmose III, 1480 BC, our ancient Egyptian ancestors were visited by a UFO. Or at the very least, according to the text, a “circle of fire” was coming in the sky". Roman emperor Constantine is reported to have witnessed a strange craft in the sky subsequent to winning the battle of the Milvian Bridge. The pages of history are littered with many-many accounts of humans seeing strange flying objects in the sky. The most famous event occurred in 1947 when businessman Kenneth Arnold claimed to see a group of nine high-speed objects near Mount Rainier in Washington while flying his small plane. When it comes to the topic of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) or Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs), it can at times be difficult to separate fact from fiction. "UFOs: What we know so far", takes a look at a few compelling UFO encounters/cases and developments when it comes to demystifying UFOs.

What we know so far: Queen Nefertiti
Author: FRANK DAPPAH
Publisher: OSTRICH PUBLISHERS
ISBN:
Category : Juvenile Nonfiction
Languages : en
Pages : 29
Book Description
Queen Nefertiti is arguably the most interesting fixture in ancient Egypt and all we currently know about this ancient advanced civilization. We know so much about life in ancient Egypt simply because those who lived in that era meticulously documented all aspects of their lives. When it comes to Nefertiti though, there seem to be many (literal) pages missing from the historical record. For one, the queen's mummy has never been found. All records of her seem to go missing at some point. The second in our series of world wonders: "What we know so far", we attempt to count down some of the facts we know about this great ancient queen. "What we know so far: Queen Nefertiti" can be read to your little angel, or they can make their way through this colorfully illustrated book all on their own. Great for general reading or at bedtime. Book details: Features brightly colored illustrations sure to keep your little angel engaged. Unbroken: The Trauma Response Is Never Wrong
Author: MaryCatherine McDonald
Publisher: Sounds True
ISBN: 1683648854
Category : Self-Help
Languages : en
Pages : 203
Book Description
A profound new approach to healing trauma, grounded in a radical reframing of how we understand this nearly universal experience For centuries, we’ve been taught that being traumatized means we are somehow broken—and that trauma only happens to people who are too fragile or flawed to deal with hardship. But as a researcher, teacher, and survivor, Dr. MaryCatherine McDonald has learned that the only thing broken is our society’s understanding of trauma. “The body’s trauma response is designed to save our lives—and it does,” she says. “It’s not a sign of weakness, but of our function, strength, and amazing resilience.” With Unbroken: The Trauma Response Is Never Wrong, Dr. McDonald overturns the misconceptions about trauma with the latest evidence from neuroscience and psychology—and shares tested practices and tools to help you work with your body’s coping mechanisms to accelerate healing. Here, you’ll explore: • What is trauma? The latest science that undoes the stigmas of shame, blame, and humiliation • Moral injury—having our basic sense of how the world should work overturned • The truth about triggers—what they really are and how they can guide the healing journey • Traumatic patterns—new findings to help break free from recurring habits and toxic dynamics • Why we can always rewrite our inner narratives, no matter how much time has passed • Finding a “relational home” for trauma—how we can help each other return to wholeness Dr. McDonald’s case studies reveal the many ways trauma can manifest and persist in our lives, yet there’s one factor every case has in common: the trauma response itself reveals the path to healing. “Our traumatic experiences reveal that we can be bent, dented, or bruised,” she says, “but we cannot be broken.” For anyone who has gone through trauma or wants to help others who are struggling, here is an empowering resource for finding our way home to our bodies, rebuilding our relationships, and returning to full engagement with life.

Pick up your copy of this sci-fi thriller today and enter a world where nothing is as it seems. For a limited time, save $2.00 off the regular retail price when purchased during pre-order and launch time (Now through May 6th). Early Reviews Easily a new classic Normally I either power read through an entire book or read it over a month as a casual read. This story captured me from the first chapter, I had to force myself to stop halfway through it to digest the concepts and story. Upon restarting it the next day I found that I was even re-reading a couple of chapters from before where I left off just to refresh my memory so I did not miss a single nuance of the story. I loved it!!! From the concept to your descriptive writing, you had me hooked from the beginning. Yes, space-themed novels appeal to me, but I am sure anyone could find something they love about this book. The Plot Thickens I loved the book! The storyline was great. The characters believable. I really liked the characters of Jason, Seattle, and Tinker. Mu-monk was absolutely the best character to me! Can't wait till the next book. I really hope this is the start of a great series.

Peirce Mattering
Author: Dorothea Sophia
Publisher: Rowman & Littlefield
ISBN: 1793654115
Category : Philosophy
Languages : en
Pages : 231
Book Description
“Mattering” is the process and product of reality. It is one from nothing. Using Charles Sanders Peirce’s systematic method of inquiry, Dorothea Sophia explores the meaning, the value, and the consequences of “mattering”: to be able to say, beyond reasonable doubt, “it matters,” and that being on an evolving, developing telos, “it is mattering.” Peirce Mattering: Value, Realism, and the Pragmatic Maxim develops a three-part hypothesis of “mattering”: value functions as a condition of intelligibility—purpose, as the ground of “mattering” is dependent on value; power—the capacity to cause—is the enabler of force functioning as actual “mattering”; and “mattering” is evolutionary realization of universal telos. This book argues that championing one’s rights, with disregard for consequences—even for probabilities—and disowning responsibility has come to mean that choice, the hallmark of human freedom, is increasingly circumscribed, as are our chances of saving our world from ecocide.
