Book Description
Velocity 2.0: Paint, Pixels, & Profitability is the second book from retail automotive industry expert, entrepreneur and former dealer, Dale Pollak. The book picks up where Dale's Velocity: From the Front Line to the Bottom Line leaves off, revealing new ROI-based management metrics and processes dealers can use to operate more efficient and profitable used vehicle departments. The book flows from the recognition that today s used vehicle marketplace is more challenging and volatile than it s ever been a tough reality driven by the power of the Internet and a troubled economy. Velocity 2.0 offers a playbook of best practices and processes to help dealers become more successful.

Least-Squares Finite Element Methods
Author: Pavel B. Bochev
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 0387689222
Category : Mathematics
Languages : en
Pages : 669
Book Description
Since their emergence, finite element methods have taken a place as one of the most versatile and powerful methodologies for the approximate numerical solution of Partial Differential Equations. These methods are used in incompressible fluid flow, heat, transfer, and other problems. This book provides researchers and practitioners with a concise guide to the theory and practice of least-square finite element methods, their strengths and weaknesses, established successes, and open problems.

Science Foundations: Physics
Author: Bryan Milner
Publisher: Routledge
ISBN: 1351759515
Category : Social Science
Languages : en
Pages : 248
Book Description
This title was first published in 2001. The new edition of Science Foundations provides comprehensive coverage of single- and double-award GCSE science. It is fully revised and updated to match the new GCSE specifications, for teaching from September 2001. It contains all the material required for the foundation and higher tiers, with clear progression and explicit differentiation. 'Higher tier only' material is clearly marked in separate spreads. The language level is carefully controlled, with illustrations and layout specifically designed to make the concepts accessible. There are frequent opportunities for students to confirm their understanding of each key idea as it is introduced, via short questions and summary passages on each spread. The books include guidance for students on how to prepare for and answer their GCSE examinations, and a glossary of key words for ease of reference.

IUTAM Symposium on Chaotic Dynamics and Control of Systems and Processes in Mechanics
Author: Giuseppe Rega
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 9781402032677
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 544
Book Description
The interest of the applied mechanics community in chaotic dynamics of engineering systems has exploded in the last fifteen years, although research activity on nonlinear dynamical problems in mechanics started well before the end of the Eighties. It developed first within the general context of the classical theory of nonlinear oscillations, or nonlinear vibrations, and of the relevant engineering applications. This was an extremely fertile field in terms of formulation of mechanical and mathematical models, of development of powerful analytical techniques, and of understanding of a number of basic nonlinear phenomena. At about the same time, meaningful theoretical results highlighting new solution methods and new or complex phenomena in the dynamics of deterministic systems were obtained within dynamical systems theory by means of sophisticated geometrical and computational techniques. In recent years, careful experimental studies have been made to establish the actual occurrence and observability of the predicted dynamic phenomena, as it is vitally needed in all engineering fields. Complex dynamics have been shown to characterize the behaviour of a great number of nonlinear mechanical systems, ranging from aerospace engineering applications to naval applications, mechanical engineering, structural engineering, robotics and biomechanics, and other areas. The International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics grasped the importance of such complex phenomena in the Eighties, when the first IUTAM Symposium devoted to the general topic of nonlinear and chaotic dynamics in applied mechanics and engineering was held in Stuttgart (1989).
