Com o intuito de proteger a bacia hidrogr & aacute;fica do manancial do Ribeirão do Feijão, ão Carlos, P, este estudo visou: (i) estimar a disposição a pagar (DAP) da população são-carlense para a proteção ambiental; (ii) identificar o nível de conhecimento sobre a origem dos recursos hídricos utilizados do Ribeirão do Feijão entre sujeitos da população urbana; (iii) estimar o lucro líquido da produção agropecu & aacute;ria desta bacia. Para determinar a disposição a pagar (DAP) da população o Método de Valoração Contingente (MVC) com a técnica de eliciação jogos de leilão foi utilizado. Foram aplicados 280 question & aacute;rios em uma amostra probabilística da população durante o mês de outubro de 2010. Foi construído um modelo de regressão logística multivariado. Para identificar as atividades agropecu & aacute;rias foi utilizado como fonte de dados o mapa de cobertura do solo da bacia. As estimativas do lucro líquido foram feitas com base nos custos e receitas das culturas utilizando o Valor Presente Líquido (VPL). A DAP média da população foi de R$ 3,07 resultando em um montante financeiro anual de R$ 8.176.638,00. A estimativa do lucro líquido para todas as culturas foi de R$ 13.392.119,95 por ano para uma & aacute;rea produtiva de 14.694 ha, que representa 65,87% da & aacute;rea da bacia e 12,88% do território de ão Carlos.
