Book Description
This volume studies high and late medieval material culture in a Pan-European context. The idea of ‘unity of culture’ in Medieval Latin Europe is well known in historical texts, especially when it concerns the so-called ‘Europe North of the Alps’. This book investigates the similarities and differences in material culture between areas, regions and political entities and opens the dialogue for a more interregional discussion. The editors acknowledge that there are numerous challenges in understanding the phenomenon the volume addresses, the fundamental one being defining (or even redefining) a common material culture of Europe. Important in determining this is greater appreciation of how objects reflect interactions between peoples, both local and foreign, which can be driven by a variety of factors, including trade, conflict and diplomacy etc. But just as important is observing the differences between ‘things’ across Europe, reflecting developments and transformations its cultural, social and economic history. These works are traditionally presented in isolation or at the local level, maybe even in very specialized tomes, as often it is thought their observation are not relevant to wider discourses. Conversely, what is clear, however, is that by interconnecting these seemingly introvert studies of specific artefact types or sites etc., readers can better appreciate the similarities and differences in material culture across Europe. This book is of interest to researchers in archaeology and material culture.

Most executives know their company's values and brand message, but often they fail to make sure that everyone else knows them too. The result? A weak brand that conveys different messages inside the company--and out in the marketplace. United We Brand offers a hands-on action plan for building a cohesive brand strategy from the ground up. Drawing from two decades of experience creating brand identities for companies including Dell, Cisco, and Kia Motors, Mike Moser provides a proven template for transforming disparate, "fuzzy" brand information into a concrete guidepost for making day-to-day branding decisions. Called the "Brand Roadmap," this valuable tool enables organizations of all sizes and kinds to leverage insights and strategies once only available through big-gun consulting and ad agencies. Step by step, it guides readers through the four key components of brand strategy: identifying core values, creating a focused brand message, developing a distinctive brand personality, and choosing a consistent set of brand icons. Filled with vivid case examples and practical worksheets, United We Brand is essential for anyone involved in charting a company's distinctive path to success. Book Description
Lester Davis grew up and married Genevieve Holmes who later by the grace of the living God found their place in life. They moved from one small town to another small town. Lester Davis became coach in the mid-fifties when the schools in the south were segregated and continued his coaching after integration. He like many others felt the sting of a reluctant spirit that didnt want to change. Nevertheless, he didnt dwell on negative things too much. He pushed forward to victory, after victory with the united community to support his effects. United we stand Divided we fallAll for one and one for all...F.I.G.H.T...fight! was the teams motto of the seventies, eighties, until nineteen ninety. The motto was all so fitting for some of the battles that were faced by the teams. Really and truly they were in a fight; some were simply to let us know we can win no matter how small. And we did, many times. Coach Davis lead his teams from 1956-1990 to many victories, over 783 winnings.

Book Description
"Essex scribe and literary Hammer Pete May writes with humour and eloquence about the most turbulent year of change at the Boleyn since Ken's Café got a tub of Flora." Phill Jupitus West Ham's final season at the Boleyn Ground was always going to be memorable. It featured a new manager in Slaven Bilic, the arrival of a French magician called Dimitri Payet and away wins at Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City - not to mention an unexpected tilt at the top four and an epic last game at the Boleyn against Man United. But a new beginning is around the corner and, as he and his fellow Hammers prepare to swap the gritty East End streets of E13 for the shiny shopping centres of Stratford, lifelong supporter Pete May reflects on the special place the Boleyn Ground has occupied in the hearts of generations of Irons fans. Whether it's the infamous chants of the Bobby Moore Stand, the pre-match fry-ups at Ken's Café or the joys of sticky carpets, rubbish ale and blokes singing on pool tables in the pubs around Upton Park, Pete's memories are sure to resonate with legions of the claret-and-blue army as they say farewell to the Boleyn and enter a new era at the London Stadium.

Book Description
Success, failure, heroism, stupidity, talent, skulduggery ... Upton Park has seen it all. If supporting his club for fifty years has taught Brian Williams one thing it's that football fans definitely need a sense of humour - how else would they cope with the trials and tribulations that are part and parcel of cheering on their team? In this frank and funny take on the travails of a die-hard football supporter, Williams takes a nostalgic look back at some of the great players, great triumphs and great calamities that have marked West Ham's time at Upton Park, exploring the club's influence on its fans, the East End and football as a whole over the course of a lifetime. A Fever Pitch for the Premier League generation, Nearly Reach the Sky is an anecdotal journey through the seminal goals, games, fouls and finals, told with all the comedy, tragedy and irrationality fans of any team will recognise. This is a witty, fond, passionate and poignant tribute to the end of an era at Upton Park, as well as a universal meditation on the perks and perils of football fandom.
