Book Description
Have you ever felt like there's a missing piece? You've been trying to figure out what it is but every class, podcast, and guru wasn't the answer. I lived most of my life believing that someone else had my answers. We've been trained this way since we were young and taught to believe that there is something wrong with us - that we're broken. Or that someone else knows better than we do about what's best for us. We didn't apologize for being ourselves when we were children, so why do we do it now? I learned how to change my thinking and lean into who I am and the gifts I bring to the world. I'm continually learning how to stop apologizing for it. I wrote this book to help you learn how to do the same. To learn to understand and accept yourself and who you are, and bring your awesome to the world. Living unapologetically starts with loving who you are, what you bring to the world, and refusing to apologize for it. Join me on the adventure towards living as an unapologetic you.

And now she's calling us to join her. Unapologetic confronts a culture that's taught so many people to hide our superpowers, to adapt and defer to others, and to be ashamed of our unique Awesome. These lies are not only toxic to us as individuals, but they rob the greater community of our best contributions. Unapologetic is a call to arms -- to embrace our individual superpowers and to share them with confidence and power." ~ Chris Niles, Novelist, Shark Key Adventure Series

Book Description
This original work redefines and broadens our understanding of the drama of the English-speaking African diaspora. Looking closely at the work of Amiri Baraka, Nobel prize-winners Wole Soyinka and Derek Walcott, and Ntozake Shange, the author contends that the refashioning of the collective cultural self in black drama originates from the complex intersection of three discourses: Eurocentric, Afrocentric, and Post-Afrocentric. From blackface minstrelsy to the Trinidad Carnival, from the Black Aesthetic to the South African Black Consciousness theatres and the scholarly debate on the (non)existence of African drama, Olaniyan cogently maps the terrains of a cultural struggle and underscores a peculiar situation in which the inferiorization of black performance forms is most often a shorthand for subordinating black culture and corporeality. Drawing on insights from contemporary theory and cultural studies, and offering detailed readings of the above writers, Olaniyan shows how they occupy the interface between the Afrocentric and a liberating Post-Afrocentric space where black theatrical-cultural difference could be envisioned as a site of multiple articulations: race, class, gender, genre, and language.

Book Description
"From decorated Green Beret sniper, UFC headliner, and all around badass, Tim Kennedy, a rollicking, inspirational memoir offering lessons in how to embrace failure and weather storms, in order to unlock the strongest version of yourself. Tim Kennedy has a problem; he only feels alive right before he's about to die. Kennedy, a Green Beret, decorated Army sniper, and UFC headliner, has tackled a bull with his bare hands, jumped out of airplanes, dove to the depths of the ocean, and traveled the world hunting poachers, human traffickers, and the Taliban. But he's also the same man who got kicked out of the police department, fire department, and as an EMT, before getting two women pregnant four days apart, and finally, been beaten up by his Special Forces colleagues for, quite simply, "being a selfish asshole." In Scars and Stripes, Kennedy describes how these failures shaped him into the successful businessman and devoted husband and father he is today. Through unbelievably vivid, wild anecdotes Kennedy reveals all the dumb, violent, embarrassing, and undeniably heroic things he's done in his life, including multiple combat missions in Afghanistan, building a school in Texas for elementary kids, and creating two-multimillion-dollar businesses. You will learn that failure isn't the end-rather it's the first step towards unearthing the best version of yourself and finding success, no matter how overwhelming the setbacks may feel"--
