Le Trouble du Spectre de l'Autisme (TSA) est caractérisé par des déficits persistants de la communication sociale et des interactions sociales, incluant l'incapacité de réciprocité sociale ou émotionnelle dans plusieurs contextes. Cette caractéristique fait partie des critères diagnostiques les plus récents du DSM 5. Différents facteurs entrent en jeu dans la communication sociale, qu'ils soient cognitifs ou émotionnels, et chacun d'eux permet la composition du puzzle nécessaire à son bon fonctionnement. Nous nous sommes intéressés au lien qu'il pouvait exister entre l'altération de ce fonctionnement émotionnel et la dépression en tant que comorbidité dans le TSA. Pour cela, après l'étude du TSA (critères DSM IV-TR), de la dépression et du processus émotionnel, nous avons évalué le ressenti d'émotions positives c'est à dire l'hédonie, ainsi que le plaisir « social » et « non social » ou « physique », à l'aide du Test d'Hédonie Visuelle. La régulation des émotions a également été observée à travers la recherche de stratégie d'anticipation ou de suppression. Au préalable, nous avons évalué la symptomatologie autistique des patients de façon catégorielle (ADI, ADOS), tempéramentale (Questionnaires de Régulation Émotionnelle pour Enfants et Adolescents) et dimensionnelle (Inventaire des comportements - CBCL). Nous avons ensuite mesuré l'impact sur la dimension sociale à l'aide de la l'Échelle de Réciprocité Sociale (SRS). Les résultats ont montré un degré d'hédonie globale plus faible dans la population TSA. En revanche, le plaisir non social était supérieur au plaisir social dans la population TSA mais de façon identique dans la population contrôle. La régulation des émotions était moindre dans la population TSA par rapport à la population contrôle sans profil particulier de réévaluation ou de suppression mis en avant. La question se pose alors d'un plus grand contrôle des émotions positives dans cette population mais d'une perception physique plus intense, en lien avec un système de régulation moindre, avec un impact sur le ressenti et l'expression des émotions. Ceci pourrait expliquer l'importance des troubles internalisés et le caractère émotionnel explosif, parfois observé chez ces patients. L'association entre une atteinte du processus émotionnel et une dépression comorbide chez les enfants avec TSA pourrait se situer au niveau de la régulation émotionnelle. Des anomalies de la régulation émotionnelle pouvant avoir un impact sur la survenue de trouble de l'humeur dans la population TSA. On peut imaginer qu'un travail thérapeutique sur les habiletés sociales puisse permettre aux enfants avec TSA de mieux traiter les expressions émotionnelles. Ainsi leur vécu émotionnel pourrait être mieux appréhendé et donc régulé, entrainant ainsi moins de débordement émotionnel et de conséquences anxio-dépressives.
